A new Wacom Tablet

A couple of weeks ago I spoke about how I wanted to get another Wacom tablet that I could use when I go away, and last week I managed to get a look at the updated version of the Intuos Pro medium. It is basically the one I have now, but it is smaller and thinner.

Here is the new tablet on top of my old one, so you can see how much smaller it is.

In this image you can see how thin it is compared to my old one.

It feels lighter and I think it will be perfect for moving around. I’m looking forward to taking it away with me now.

I am looking at the Intuos Pro Paper Edition and it means I can use it to draw as well. It looks so cool and I can’t wait to really try it out. Take a look at the video on the site.

I’m not sure what I will do with the drawing aspect, but my mind has been swimming with  ideas. You will have to wait to see what I come up with.

If you look at the featured image at the top of this post, it is an image that I would not have been able to do without my Wacom Tablet. They do have a great range and if you would like to see what they have follow this link.

  1. Now that is pretty amazing, especially if you want to draw. For me, though, I have a Wacom tablet and I haven’t used it for years. I don’t need it for Lightroom, where I do most of my processing and in Photoshop, I find the improvements in masking methods of recent years mean that I no longer need it. I don’t usually do compositing and in any case, for many purposes, I find precise masks are not necessary.

    1. I don’t think I could live without mine, I love it, but I do like to do fine detail work on my images. I also want to get into more compositing, so it is quite an essential tool for me. Thanks for sharing that Murray.

  2. I had one of the earlier Wacom tablets and I really enjoyed it. Haven’t used it since I stopped using Photoshop, but I look forward to seeing what you do with it. x
