A winter trip to Alowyn Gardens

This afternoon a friend picked me up so we could go to Alowyn Gardens in Yarra Glen for some macro photography. I am still trying out the Samyang 100mm lens and thought it would be a great opportunity to use it.

There were a lot of flowers out, so it ended up being a quick trip, but that didn’t matter. I still got some lovely shots, have coffee and a catch up with Suzzanna.

I have only a few photos, these are some photos of the actual gardens and they were all taken with the Samyang lens. You can see how many of the plants are getting ready for winter. I did take some flowers, but I want to process them properly, so they will have to wait for another day.

I hope your weekend is going well. The sun hasn’t come out much today, but it isn’t raining, so that’s good. It is cold. I’ll be keeping warm tonight as tomorrow morning they are predicting very cold temperatures. I will have to get out all the warm gear for my long exposure workshop down at St Kilda first thing tomorrow morning. I hope you are having a great weekend.

  1. I love your work!! You have such a great gift!! Your images always make me feel something…and the feeling is always different. A thought or a memory of my mother usually. Thank you for your work!! May God bless you.

    1. That is disappointing, but I am sure there will be others. I have heard from other people who want to know if I will start teaching macro photography, so it might be time.
