Catching up and take a look at some birds from Banyule Flats

It has been a very exciting week, as most of you know, but I suppose things still have to progress and go on.

Dynamic Range Magazine

Now that my book is finished I can concentrate on the next Issue of Dynamic Range Magazine. I am really excited about what we have in store for you.

Don’t forget to go to the Shop to get your copy if you haven’t already.

The Six Seasons of My Backyard

Thank you everyone for your kind words on the publishing of my book. It has been such an exciting time for me. Thank you to those that have purchased it, I am truly grateful.

I would also like to mention that $5 from the sale of every book is being donated to the Wurundjeri people. It is a small way to say thank you to them for allowing me to use part of their culture, the seasons, for my book.

To purchases, if you live around Melbourne, then please contact me, however if you live overseas you can order a copy from createspace, and it is now on Amazon as well.

Formatt Hitech Filters

I have been using the Formatt Hitech Filters for some time now, about a year and was made a featured artist a while back. They are filters that I believe in a great deal and think they are among the best filters available.

I have now been given a code so you too can buy the filters. With this code you will receive 10% discount from anything they offer.

The code is: LCOLE10

It is an affiliation, so if you use it, I will get a kick back as well.

Royal Melbourne Show

This is a big event here which starts tomorrow. It is like a big carnival I suppose. Rides, competitions, animals, all sorts of things. I was able to get Media Accreditation for it. I am rather excited at being able to try some photography things there. I am planning on going a few times. I’m looking forward to sharing the photos with you.

Photos

The photos are some taken almost two years ago and are from Banyule Flats. They are some of the birds that you see down there. None of these photos are in the book, but it is nice to look at them again.

Friday night here, and I’m looking forward to the weekend, though I do have a couple of articles I need to finish for Digital Photography School. I hope you have a good weekend planned.

  1. Sounds like things are going well for you, Leanne. So happy for you. Congrats on the book once again, and also on the Media Accreditation for the Royal Melbourne Show. I’ve actually never been before. Maybe it will be this year that I decide to go and see the animals and the rides. Good luck with taking photos there and hope you get some good ones. I’m guessing there are quite a few perks like wandering around certain areas with the accreditation 🙂

My favourite shots from this collection would be the one of the white bird flying across the water, and the one hanging upside down. Impeccable timing and eye.

    1. Thanks Mabel, it is an exciting time. I think you should go to the Show at least once. It is quite weird. There are some perks, but really it just means no one stops you from taking photos, which is very nice.
That’s great to hear, thanks again.

  2. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too Leanne. I’ll get your book through Amazon .. And you never know, one day I will surprise you with an MM entry 😃

  3. Love the photos and the book. It is gorgeous. The words flow around the images and the intro and preface are great. I hope the freeway can be stopped. Is there anything people abroad can do?

    1. that’s fantastic Nicci, so happy to hear you like the book. Thanks for letting me know. I don’t know if you can help, I will let you know if you can. Thanks you.

  4. Enjoyed reading that article you wrote earlier in the year for Formatt HiTech Filters Leanne . Amazed to Google and find out their HQ are only a couple of hours drive from me . Looking at polarisers .. maybe in the future so I’ll keep that code handy 😉 Thank you !

    1. Thanks for the feedback Louise, really you are that close to them, how funny is that. I haven’t tried their polarisors but hoping to soon.
Thanks, and you have a good one too.

  5. Beautiful captures of these special birds. The one turning his/her head upside down is remarkable!
