I had no idea that Aliens had crash landed in Australia, let alone Coober Pedy. Who knew. Well I found out when I started looking at photos of the town once we arrived. Once I found out there was a space ship I had to find it and take photos of it.
It is actually the ship from the movie Pitch Black which was shot in and around Coober Pedy.
I also thought it might be fun to turn it into a black and white photo. I haven’t done one for a long time and I think that needs to change. I should do more, what do you think?

I really liked Pitch Black. Something of a hidden gem. Vin Diesel did what Vin Diesel does best. The very strong highlights in your photo match the film, where it was blazing sunlight all the time. Well, until an unfortunately timed eclipse . . .

I think that the folks who are really into photography would. I know I would be. I have done a few photo tip posts, and they have done ok. I am just glad to see you getting back toward your passion.
That’s what I’m hoping. You are the first to know about it, hoping to get some videos done in the next week or two. I think the trip to NT was really for that, it has also been nice getting back into processing my photos.

Fun fact: when I visited Coober Pedy many many years ago, I found a $50 note on the ground. As an 11-year-old, it was the greatest find of my childhood! 😂
