A quiet Cityscape

This image was taken a few weeks when I had a loan of the Canon 5D Mark IV with the 16-35mm 2.8 lens. I was trying it out for long exposure photography and while I had it I took as many as I could. I did process this image a little a couple of weeks ago to use for something else, then I realised I could still do a lot more to it. Here is the final image.

The other day I mentioned that I have a loan of the Canon 5D Mark IV and the 16-35mm 2.8 lens. I am trying them out with long exposures to see what I think. I am always on the look out for new gear to see what I can do with it, and, of course, I am looking around for a new camera to do long exposure photography with.

Yes, that is correct. I’m not playing it, but my husband is. It is funny how he is very keen to come out with me when I want to take photos now that he is playing the Pokemon Go game. We wondered around the city until just after dark so he could catch and fight the Pokemon on his phone and I could take photos.

I do love the city in winter, especially in the late afternoon light. There is a kind of golden glow to it. We didn’t get any sunset, but I still had fun.  I will have to see where I can get him to go next time.

I’m just leaving you with a gallery today.  I hope you are enjoying the weather where and the weekend where you are.

Someone asked me the other day what was with the Week number with these posts. I really didn’t know what to call them, so that is the number of the week of the year. Scary I know, we are that far along in the year already.

There are only 4 images today. I do post every day on Instagram, but I’ve already shown you quite a few.  I hope you enjoy them.

Last week I was doing some long exposures in the city and when I went to process one of them I converted it to black and white first. This is what I ended up with.

I decided to use this image for Monochrome Madness over on my other blog today. I like how it came out in monochrome.

As I usually do I converted it back to colour to see how it would look.

I lost some of the detail in the sky, but the blues in it are quite nice. It is going to be personal choice I think as to which one is better. I don’t think I have a preference.
