Wandering Around Chinatown and Catching Up

It is time to get back to reality and I’m now back home. I have to get my act together quickly as I am required to get a heap of writing done. It is nice to be busy and besides lots of articles I am getting booked for more One on One Photography Lessons which are great. It is good that I work well under pressure.

Dynamic Range Magazine

It is coming up quick. The next issue will be ready in a couple of weeks. We have made some more changes, but the articles and photos in it are still great and informative.

If you want to subscribe you can do that on the Shop page, or follow this link, Shop.

Tasmania

Things are coming together nicely for our trip to Tasmania. We have worked out where we are going to be when, but haven’t done a lot of working out exactly what we will be doing. We have booked a couple of cruises, which should be great and from what we can work out, the most expensive things we will be doing. It is nice to know that you can go on holidays and not spend thousands.

One thing I want to do while I am there is explore Tasmania in winter and see how that goes. I have never been a fan of summer and the images you get with it. My favourite time of the year to take images has always been winter.

While I am away I will not be doing regular posts. I will try and do some posts on my trip and let you know what I will be doing, but there will be no Monochrome Madness.

This Blog

Speaking of this one, I am now going to be doing all my posts over here and have asked that all my followers be transferred over. Hopefully the change will be smooth.

Many of you said that it would be far less confusing if I just had one, so this will be it from now on. ย Everyone thing in one place.

Articles

I’ve had another article published on Digital Photography School:

My Favourite Travel Lens โ€“ The Tamron 28-300mm

Also one has been on the Photographers.com.au website blog:

Photos

The photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when I was doing a One on One Photography lesson and my client wanted to explore Chinatown in the city. I have to admit I’ve never really taken photos around there, possibly because it isn’t necessarily a nice place, but a great place to eat.

We walked around and down lanes, and at one stage went up into a carpark to see what we could see from the top. It was a good day and I found some things I didn’t know were there before.

  1. Great blog post, Leanne. And, thanks for links to your articles. I shall be checking out that lens as we are hoping to have a big holiday in the autumn. And yeah, I’d love to be a photographer when I grow up please ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I just read your article “I want to be a photographer when I grow up” – thank you for a great article. You really covered so many excellent points – some pondering in my mind – so I thank you! Your work is beautiful and you are really so diverse – your work is inspirational! Your Chinatown photos are wonderful! To continue with easy following of yourself – do I need to do anything? – as I am a current follower? Thank you Leanne!

    1. You’re welcome Debby, good to know it was okay. Thank you Debby, no, I don’t think so, you should be fine as you are, if you are already subscribed to this one. I’m not exactly sure what is going to happen, but hopefully it will be smooth.

  3. Lovely set of shots of Chinatown, Leanne. A more rugged part of the city, in my opinion. It can get crowded there at times. Love the view from the carpark. I have to go up there myself at one point and see it for myself from that angle. Your trip to Tasmania sounds exciting, and it sounds like you are well into preparing for it ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Thank you Mabel, it is rugged, that is a good word for it. Oh yes, lunch time is often very crowded, especially on a Sunday. The car park was good, I will have to find more. I hope so, I have got my thermals and am planning and prepraring myself for the cold, I hope.

    2. Good luck with shooting Chinatown again in the future. It hasn’t changed much over the last few years (same goes with quite a few spots in Melbourne city) but I’m sure you’ll be able to shoot it from a different angle next time.

Also, I want to say I like your design on this blog a lot. Clean and polished, and I’ll be coming back now that you’ll be posting here from now on ๐Ÿ˜€

    3. Thanks Mabel. No it hasn’t, not really, it is pretty much the same as when I first started going there, just the names change.
That’s great to hear Mabel, I want this to become my main blog, so will be working on it more and more. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I bet, there are some great places to eat there, not that I do a lot of it these days. We used to eat there several times a week when we first got married.
