Can you get addicted to software like ON1 Photo RAW 2025

I just can’t stop playing around with it. I love all the different things you can do in it. So today I have 3 images for you from That Wanaka tree in New Zealand.

I’m not going to go through what I’ve done, too much to remember really. I did want to show you these images and what is possible with ON1 Photo RAW 2025.

It is amazing and I think I’m addicted. I’ve been playing with it every day and trying lots of different images to see what I can do to them. I’ve shown you heaps and will continue to do that.

I have shown you many images from that morning at Wanaka, but I think these three I’ve not processed before. I was there for a couple of hours, so I took a lot of photos as the conditions changed.

I hope you like these.

  1. I’ve been looking for something to replace Topaz, but this is more money than I can afford. AT least right now. It may get better. Then I’ll give it a whirl. Your pictures are phenomenal.

    1. Keep an eye out Marilyn, they nearly always have special deals on, though I would get the 30 day trial first, make sure you at least like it. Thank you, that’s nice to hear.

  2. Looks like you are enjoying it, and getting some good results. I gave it a try, but couldn’t get on with the masking, so I went back to Lightroom.

    1. I am David, it is great to use and see what you can do. I love masks, can I ask you why you don’t like them? They are so easy.

    2. I found them less intuitive. Unless they have made great strides since I tried it last I found the ability to auto-mask objects and also to intersect masks for greater flexibility much better in Lightroom. For instance being able to add a linesr gradient to the top of an image and intersect that with the sky selection so you get a linear gradient only on the sky. Can you do that now?

    3. When did you last try it David? I know a few years ago I found it hard because it was slow and I couldn’t seem to use my raw files. It is a lot faster now which is great. I mean there is always some lag time waiting for something to happen, but that heppens in PS as well. The linear gradient is there in ON1 now, I have used it in most of the photos I’ve shown. It is different, but still easy to use. That is one of my favourite tools. The only thing I’ve found hard to use is when you are using a mask and you want to cut around something, that is not good.

    1. It does Martina. Yeah, most people think LR or PS, but they are hiking the prices up so much that many of us are wondering what else is out there. I don’t use LR much, but I am finding PS is getting worse and worse to use, they keep stuffing things up in it and I don’t want to pay a fortune for something that does work like it used to. Thanks Martina.

    2. This is what I’m thinking Martina, and I have until May next year to find alternatives, but I do think ON1 is going to be part of my processing from now on, but I know there are things it can’t do that i like, so I am also looking at Affinity Photo 2. I have purchased it and have been trying it out and what I’ve seen so far looks good. What I’m hoping is that what I can’t do in ON1 I can do in Affinity. Sorry long winded response.
