Competitions – I Made the Finals

Merrell Australia decided to have a competition for Outdoor photography in Australia. I don’t normally enter competitions, but they have always been a fantastic company and have given me a lot of support over the years. I really didn’t expect to get anywhere, just thought if I entered I could help support their comp, so it was a complete surprise when I received a phone call to tell me I had made it to the finals.

Competitions – I Made the Finals

Merrell was asking for images with the idea that 12 finalists would all have their images in a calendar for next year. However, there would also be a final winner who would get $20000. I entered and part of that reason was so I could use the images on my social media sites to help advertise the competition for them.

Merrell has been good to me, and their support over the last few years have been fantastic. You could perhaps say I’ve had more from them than any other photography company. The relationship started 3 years ago when I was going to the USA and they were one of my sponsors. They gave me a pair of hiking shoes to wear. I still have those shoes and wear them often. I’ve received other shoes for other things I’ve done for them and have so many pairs of them. I’ve also purchased quite a few as well. So anything I can do for them, I do gladly. I’m a loyal person, and when people are good to me, I feel that sense of loyalty.

Entering is not something I usually do because I never see the point, I never win, so why bother. So when I got the phone call to tell me I was a finalist, I was truly shocked.

Trying to Win

The competition is now about winning. To do that people have to vote for your image. I have no idea how I will go, but you can help me.

Anyone in the world can vote, but unfortunately, the shoes that someone can win for voting can only be won by someone living in Australia.

To vote for my image go to the following link, VOTE & WIN

  16. Congrats.

    Just did the vote.

How did most of those get selected?
Only four were worth consideration, yours included of course.

Most of those I’d seen slightly differently well over one hundred times

    • Thank you for voting.

I have no idea how they made the selections, that’s really nice of you to say. Let’s hope mine stands out enough that people want to vote for it.

  17. Congratulations, Leanne.
