Floral Friday and The Fine Art Way

Here we are, ready for Floral Friday, and it is also Good Friday. We don’t really celebrate Easter in our house, beyond it being a great excuse for lots of chocolate Easter eggs. I also love hot cross buns. Today I also want to talk to you about a new membership site I have started, The Fine Art Way. Something I’m excited about and I hope that some of you will join me.

The Fine Art Way

This is a membership site for people who want to learn fine art photography from me.

Since doing my fine arts degree I’ve been sharing what I know, both here and in other places. I have decided to start a membership that will be solely for helping people find their voice and style in the art world.

We will do a lot of discussions around the working life of an artist. I will help you find a direction in your art, and then from there help you work out where you want to go.

It will be good for anyone who wants to improve their photography. If you want to exhibit your work in galleries, I can help you get ready for that. Maybe you want to do more formal education and need a portfolio, that is something I can help you with as well.

Of course, there are going to be people that have no idea and just want to learn, but I am sure they will find a direction as well.

Type of things that will be done

There will be critiques, like the tutorials we had. We will look at other artists and see what we can learn from them. There will be classes on taking photos, looking at composition and that sort of thing. Plus, we will look into post processing and doing some tutorials for people.

We will look at style and what that means.

It is going to be a lot of fun.

How it will work

At this stage it is going to be a Facebook group, that is because I can do that for free. If I get enough people wanting to do it, then I can purchase a special plugin to have the membership site here, so people don’t have to be on Facebook to have it.

I have opened up membership until the 10th of April and at this time, for the beta version, it is going to be $15 a month. One coffee a week. People will not be able to join the group again until later in the year.

If you sign up now, you will always only pay $15 a month. The next time it opens up it may cost a lot more, but because you joined now, you won’t have to pay the extra.

If you want to join, send me an email leanne@leannecole.com.au

Floral Friday

Today’s flowers are also from the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. This time they have been processed with Photoshop. I wanted to see if I could do more to them in that.

See if you like them. They were all taken with the Tamron SP 90mm macro lens.

I hope you have a Happy Easter. Spend time with your family and don’t eat too much chocolate. We have a rule here about the chocolate, it all has to be gone by Monday night.

    1. I am still sorting it out, but the idea is that it will a course like thing for either the 3 months, and then it will be more about helping you do your work and me being around to help with questions, and encouraging everyone. Looking at other artists, doing critiquing type tutorials. So I want it to be a community sort of thing for fine art photographers. So Open ended in the end Tim.
