Floral Friday – Applying my presets to the flowers from my garden

As you may have guessed from the title I am playing around with ON1 Photo RAW 2025 more as I try to figure out how to do my own presets. It is funny how you can do one for a photo, but then it really doesn’t work for others. I guess that is the challenge. I did manage to do a couple that seemed to work with most of my flowers, so they are definite keepers.

These were photographed back in January when the garden had lots of flowers. I thought maybe that we might get flowers for longer this year, but it seems we have been hit in the side of the head with winter this year. We had our first frost on Monday.

It is hard to believe that last week I was wearing shorts and short sleeves and this week we are rugging up and using the heater. It is like we went from summer to winter in the blink of an eye, and autumn is just in there somewhere.  We don’t normally get frosts this early, and we were told it would be a warmer than average winter, so what is going on? I can’t believe it when people say climate change isn’t real, or it is a cycle of the planet. We are seeing the changes in our lifetime, and the planet is changing. Cycles don’t happen this quickly. My husband always says that when people say they think it is a hoax, I should ask them where they got their climate science degree. lol.

I have processed seven photos here in Photo RAW and made 3 presets so far. One of the photos, I think, is a bit weird, but I do like it. The others worked really well. I’m starting to understand how all the effects work and how I can use them for my images. I really want to get about 6 to 8 ones I can use for floral photos, so I am working on that now.

I hope you like this week’s offerings as I bid farewell to my garden until next spring.

    1. It is good, though it came as a shock, out of the blue really. I hope it isn’t too hot. I am glad our sumemrs aren’t humid. Take care Lois.

  1. Very nice, Leanne. The presets you developed for these flowers give them a very nice soft, almost pastel, look. I especially like the pink flower in upper right.

    1. Thank you Joanne, it has been fun playing around and seeing what I could do with them. I like the results and glad you do too.

    1. Actually, I wanted a cold winter, they kill the spiders and other bugs so there aren’t so many in the summer. LOl. Thank you Anne.
