Floral Friday – Using presets in ON1 to process some flower photos

Presets, love em, hate em. I don’t know, but I’m starting to realise that they can be good especially if you have a style that you like to apply to all your photos.

So my understanding of presets is that they are a bunch of Effects that create an effect, lol. When you apply them you can then adjust them if you want. On the upside side of this you can apply Effects to your image and if you like what you have done you can save them as a preset to apply to other images. I’ve definitely done that, well only a couple of times, but I have save them.

The other thing I really like about the presets is that you can see how they were made, by going over to the Effects tab you can see exactly what Effects were used to make that preset. It is a good way to learn and see what is possible in ON1 Photo RAW 2025. It is pretty amazing and the options almost seem endless.

For these floral tributes today I have put a preset on all of them and each one is different. For a couple I have done an extra thing or two, but basically they are what the preset gives you. Ultimately, what I hope to do is have my own presets for flowers and I will start working on that soon. I might even be able to share them, but I have more to work on first.

I hope you enjoy these flowers that were photographed back in January.

  1. Very interesting to see the results of your experiments. You have some beautiful flower photos here – I especially like numbers 2 and 5 🙂

    1. Thank you Sarah, I found it interesting too, I’m loving the experimenting. Glad you liked them Sarah, and especially those. 😀

  2. I recently switched to ON1 and Affinity Photo. It was cheaper than Lightroom and PS. I have to look for the preset. I used them in Lightroom, and they are handy and a good starting point.

    1. It is much cheaper, I want to try out Affinity as well, but I messed up the trial, so will now have to buy it if I want it. I have heard good things about it as well. I used lots of different ones for this post, but check them out, there are a lot of them. Thank you Ziggy.
