For the challenge this week Egidio from Through Brazilian Eyes has asked that we show destinations that we love or find fun. I am going with love.
I have been to Tasmania 3 times now and I never get sick of it. I love exploring the island and have already started planning my fourth trip. Each time I go we do something different and this last time I wanted to do more hiking. I am hoping that by the time I next go, I will be so much fitter and will be able to do so much more hiking. Hiking is something I am starting to think of as fun.
I have put together a gallery that is filled with photos from all 3 trips. I’m sure you have all seen them before, but I really hope you enjoy seeing them again.
I want to thank Egidio for being our host this week and letting me relive my time in Tasmania. Please use the link at the top of this post to go and see what he has said and posted.

Amazing photos, Leanne! I especially like the lighthouse and the waterfall..they are so dreamy!
Thank you so much PR.
Amazing photos, Leanne. I can see why you love going there and it shows one all your images.
Thank you Sofia.
Beautiful photos!!
Thank you Nora.
You certainly ‘sell’ Tasmania well and any of these lovely images is worth several outings on your blog 🙂 I’m especially drawn to that simple church so dramatically lit, and the two shots of the ruins at Port Arthur, both sunset and stormy-looking.
Thank you Sarah, it is an easy place to sell, it is just one of those places in the world that are so photographic. That church as an interesting find, no longer used as a church. That’s great Sarah, glad you like them.
To me, Tasmania represents the many far-off places that I will never get the chance to visit first hand. You’ve allowed me at least a glimpse of this distant land that has always been shrouded in mystery to me.
I know what you are talking about John, I feel like that for most of the world. Most countries are so far away and I know I will never see them. Same here, yours and other peoples photos help me see the rest of the world. Thank you John.
Such striking images. That shipyard graveyard shot is quite something in among all the beauty you showcase.
Thank you Margaret, interesting that you bring up that image, I lvoe that one too.
The lighthouse is extraordinary! Great picture. There’s something majestic about lighthouses I love.
Thank you Esther, they really are majestic, there is something about them, like a beacon to safety or something.
Agree! You articulated it well.
That’s good, thank you.
Wow! Some spectacular images in this series. The sunset images are gorgeous and I love the little church.
I think I’ve been to Tasmania more than a dozen times since my Mother’s family come from there and were one of the first settlers in the 1800s. We always spent school summer holidays on my Grandmother’s farm in the north-west around Yolla and one year took our caravan and car over on the ferry and travelled around. But that trip was when I was a teenager.
I’d love to go back again with my camera(s), but can’t drive now.
Thank you Vicki, that is great to hear. I loved that little church too.
YOu are lucky to have been able to go there many times. You must have some wonderful memories. I the north west is the area we explored a lot more this last trip and probably where we will go back to when we go back.
Maybe you can do a tour or something Vicki, I hope you can get back there. Visit those childhood memories.
Well, it’s hard to pick a favourite out of these as they’re all incredible, even though there’s a lighthouse!! Well done, Leanne.
Thank you Sally, I’m so glad to hear you like them. How great are lighthouses?
They’re just amazing Leanne! They melt me think about sailors in the darkness feeling lost and afraid until they see that light and know that land is near. Such a comfort.
Yes, so true Sally, they were that for many and saved lives from stopping them from running aground.
Leanne, thanks for the memorable Tasmania photos. They are beautiful. I felt like I was flying over the country and having fun in each stop.
You’re welcome Egidio, I love that idea of the flying, wonderful. Thank you so much. Great challenge, I enjoyed it, though I forgot to add that the activity for my trips is always to take photos.
I got that about taking photos. I think we all love that as fun.
That’s good Egidio, I guess that is why we are all here.
I love the lighthouse.
That’s great, thank you.
Ah this sky! Incredible!
Thank you Kimberly.
Your images as always are wonderful Leanne. Sadly I think Tasmania is the only place we’ve ever been where the weather made enjoyment impossible. Hopefully we’ll have another chance at it some day.
That is disappointing to hear about the weather when you were there. It was a bit like that the first time we went, just rained and rained. Were you there in June 2016? I hope you do too, I can’t wait to go back. Thank you Tina.
Tasmania looks very beautiful, Leanne, have you guys considered moving there? I follow a retired couple that sail the Australian coast on their sail yacht, they are planning a passage to Tasmania soon. Here is a link to their blog, it’s very interesting!

It is John. I love going there, I think we talked about this before John, I was telling you how Dave won’t move. Sadly. I know that couple, Chris and I used to go out and take photos together before they sailed off. Thank you John.
Yes we did. You have a much better memory than I do, Leanne. Sorry. 🤭
Hahaha, it happens John, I forget too much some times. lol
I had way too many lost weekends in the 1980s, that’s my excuse. 🤭😂
🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Wonderful images Leanne. I loved that waterfall and first sunset. They were all worth a second look.
Thank you Anne, glad you thought they deserved a second look.
Great photos! Just the style I like!
That is great to hear, thank you.
