Lens-Artists Challenge #352 – Mellow

Sofia from photographias has chosen the challenge MELLOW. I’m taking it to mean calm and relaxing. That is my take.

Normally when I do this challenge I go through all my folders and find old photos to use for whatever the challenge is, however this week I’m doing something different.

A couple of week ago I went for a drive with a friend to Sorrento and we got to the foreshore there as the sun was setting. It was strange as the sky was full of clouds and you could hardly see across the bay. The water was so still, not mirror still, but very calm. It was really nice and surprisingly quiet. We had been on the other side of the area, where the ocean was roaring, so seeing it so calm was very relaxing.

I decided to process a few of those photos for you to see. These were done using ON1 Photo RAW 2025.

Thank you Sofia for being our host this week. Please go and take a look at her post and what she wants you to do.

  1. A bit unusual for you, Leanne, but I like them very much! They are processed in a way that make me feel soft myself – and they convey a loneliness I recognise in myself.

  2. There’s a different mood in this post from your usual, more dramatic, Leanne. And it’s fantastic. Your processing is spot on for a more mellow feel.

    1. I agree Sofia, they are different, definitely not what I do usually, but it has been fun to try different things. Thank you so much Sofia.

  3. Really lovely shots, Leanne! The soft focus and your compositions combine with the weather to make these scenes very nice.
