Monochrome Madness #36 – Naturally monochrome

This is an interesting theme this week from our host, Elke from pictures imperfect blog, she wants to look at our colour images that are NATURALLY MONOCHROME. This means, I think, that images that have no colour in them and look like black and white images. They aren’t converted.

I had to go back to the folder of foggy images that I did some from a couple of weeks ago. There is something about fog at times where the world does look like it is all black and white. I probably did cheat a little and took out some saturation. Mainly because some images did have some colour, or just a little, so I took some of that out. However, they are still essentially colour images.

The first two photos in this gallery were taken on a beach near Strahan in Tasmania. Interesting textures and shapes with the dark coloured sand. Though I think it was an inlet, and the second photo had water running over it.

The rest of the images were taken the following day on the river cruise along the Gordon River. It was so foggy that day. There are some images of the salmon farms, I think they are called. The last few were just ones that we saw from the boat.

Interesting challenge. Not sure what I would have done if I didn’t have these. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone else posts.

Thank you Elke, for being our host this week and choosing this theme. It was an interesting one.

  1. Oh… I adore the foggy images. So moody and evoactive. And the dark sand – I don’t know I would have recognised them as sand but the texture is mesmerising! Thanks for taking up the challenge.
