As this is a free week I decided to go through my old blog and find some photos from the early years of Monochrome Madness. Hence I bring to you a gallery of photos that were posted in 2015 or earlier.
It is funny looking at these because I don’t know that the way I do my monochrome images has changed that much. Maybe what I do now is not as dark, but I do think I use light a lot more differently now.
Normally I would do some sort of theme of my own on these free weeks, but I have a big variety this time. You can see what is there. Most are from country Victoria, with a couple from the USA, and I bet you can tell which ones they are. I think country areas are great for monochrome images.
Here is a gallery for you.
Our next host is Host Sarah fromΒ Travel with Me for Monochrome Madness #38, and she has decided for the theme to do a letter, so the theme is the LETTER H. I think it is any subject you like as long as it starts with the letter H. She will let us know next week.
I think it will be challenging, but I’m looking forward to seeing what I can come up with. Have to get my thinking cap on.
Participating in Monochrome Madness
If you would like to participate in this challenge, please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then we can all use the reader to see what you post.
You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to the hostβs monochrome madness post in your post, and it leaves a link in the comment section.
Donβt forget to check out theΒ Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced, and there is also all the information for participating. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.
Very creative writing style and awesome photography! How long are you doing travel blogging already?
Thank you, I am not really a travel writer, I travel very rarely.
Oh really, and where would you like to travel when you get the chance?
I don’t have a passport anymore, so it would be somewhere in Australia.
All good, Leanne and reminiscent, in part, of the post-industrial landscape around Teesside, NE England. Inspiring!
That’s interesting, thank you.
hello leanne,
you have chosen some wonderful pictures for this challenge week. i especially like the 6th, 7th, 8th and 10th.
here is my contribution to the theme, https://wp.me/pfnz9O-LZ.

Thank you Robert.
A great variety of subjects, as you say. My favourites are Yosemite and the dandelion π Here is my contribution for this week: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-seeing-malta-in-black-and-white/
And yes, the topic next week will be subjects beginning with H. I thought I’d said that but my apologies if not!
Thank you Sarah, I’m sure you did tell me, I just couldn’t remember when I was doing the post, lol. I’m getting old. π
These are really beautiful, Leanne. I always love your monochrome images. You are so talented. Thanks for the tour of your old gallery. Have a great day!
Thank you Tim. That is a really nice thing for you to say, I never really know with monochrome, so you give me confidence. You have a great one too.
Some I have missed and some I have seen. I love the Dandelion the silos and the gate in sepia
Here’s mine for this week.

Great Teresa.
Very nice look back. I particularly like the reflection in the pond. And the fuchsia shines like a little lamp!
Thank you Elke. Nice to hear which ones you like.
Great post, Leanne! My favorites: Half Dome, which has an ethereal beauty; Fuschia; the Harcourt roadside – that tree is perfect. All lovely.
Nice to hear your favourites Joanne, thank you.
Gorgeous Leanne
Thank you Kate.
Good to see some ot the older ones, Leanne
Good to hear Sue, thank you.

Hello Leanne I have question about your Monochrome photos, do you shoot in Monochrome, or with color and in processing change it to Monochrome?
I shoot in colour and then convert. Since most of my processing is colour, it makes sense for me. I hope that answers your question.
Thanks!

The minute I went to the shot of Grand Central I immediately heard that sound, a din, of people and echos you can only hear there. You know itβs a good shot when it can do that ππ
I know what you mean Ted, thank you so much. π
Wow . Wonderful photos. Well shared π
Thank you so much.
