For this week and not having a theme, I went back in the past and found some images that I had done many years ago. I thought I would share them again. Most of them were already monochrome, but I did have to convert a couple of them.
I’ve been trying so hard to use new photos all the time, while not necessarily just taken, but at least newly processed. It can be hard always doing that, and I do like to show old photos again, give them a little airing, so to speak.
Most of these were taken down near Flinders and Cape Schanck. Though the last one was taken in the same area, but is from Phillip Island.
I don’t always like water like this, but the black rocks really make it stand out. This is another one of those places I haven’t visited for a while, and might have to take a trip back.
Next week is another theme and the host for Monochrome Madness #46 is Elke from pictures imperfect blog and she wants us to do FARM ANIMALS. Going to be a tough one for me, I think.
Participating in Monochrome Madness
If you would like to participate in this challenge, please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then we can all use the reader to see what you post.
You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to the host’s monochrome madness post in your post, and it leaves a link in the comment section.
Don’t forget to check out the Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced and there is also all the information for participating. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.
The black rocks and the water give it a dark and haunting aura. It’s very cool!
It does, it is quite amazing, thank you Esther.
Wonderfully atmospheric captures, Leanne
Thank you Rich.
I’m back with a link to my belated contribution for this week: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-seeing-liverpool-in-black-and-white/
Great Sarah, I look forward to seeing it.
Love the drama of these xx
Drama is good, thank you Jo.
I love the way you capture the movement of the water! You’ve convinced me i should look into getting an ND filter 😀
Thank you Sarah, though if you use ND filters, you will have to use a tripod, sadly.
I quite often find an alternative flat (or flattish) surface to make use of!
Yeah there is that, but I find then I have to sacrifice composition, lol, I think this is an area we will never agree on. 😜😜
Gorgeous!
Thank you Dawn.
I do like a good coastal scene. These all look so good in monochrome Leanne 😀
So do I, Thank you so much Brian. I think the black rocks help.
These Rocky captures are lovely 🙂
Thank you Hammad.
Magical photographs. Enchanted.
Thank you Rebecca.
Living in a land-locked state, it’s great to see your images, Leanne.
That’s great Sandy, I like to be able to do that. thank you.
A gloriously dramatic coast line!
It is, thanks Margaret.
That looks like a mythical landscape, more suited to how I imagine the UK than Australia. My water + landscape comes from closer to (my) home: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/10/21/last-of-the-summer-fun/
It is quite surreal really, yeah we do have some strange coastlines. Thank you Elke.
