Monochrome Wednesday – A Shed

Monochrome Wednesday - Shed

Monochrome Wednesday and this week I thought we could have a look at a shed that I photographed at Hastings last year. It seemed like a good idea to get back to my Australian images.

Monochrome Wednesday – A Shed

This was a scouting trip I did with a friend last year. We were hoping to get some images of some other places but we didn’t look into the tides. Instead of getting some great images, the trip turned into a scouting one. We looked at where we could go back another time.

When I took the photos of the Hastings pier with this shed on it I wasn’t really that happy with it. It just seemed a bit blah to me. Then I figured when I looked at it today that it might make a decent monochrome image. It seemed like all the right things were there for it.

I played around with a bit so it does look quite different to the original. Though, I do that with nearly all my images. I love to take an image and see how different I can make it. See what is possible with it. You just never know what you will end up with.

This is the shed on the pier at Hastings here in Victoria, Australia.

Joining in

It would be great if you would like to participate, especially if you are enjoying the monochrome challenge again. If you want to contribute there is a Facebook groupTPM Photos which you can join and share your images. Of course, if you are blogging no reason why you can’t post your own. I like this challenge and it is nice to be thinking in monochrome again.

  1. That’s a great shot. I was there in April and didn’t think to look at it from that angle. Love the way you change the photos to please you and what you love. I do the same.

    1. Yes, I discovered that angle by mistake. I will have to go back sometime and do some long exposures I think. Thank you Joanne, I’m glad to hear you do the same.
