We have reached Week 4 with our One Four Challenge. I hope you are still enjoying it, though I notice that not many people seem that interested, am I wrong?
Before we get started, for those of you who are interested in what the One Four Challenge is, you can find out by going to this link for more information. Please take a look at Joanne’s post as well.
As this is One image that I have cropped four ways to get the four different images if you want to see what I have done so far, click these links, Week 1, Week 2 and Week 3.
It has been an interesting month doing this image. I like how I did the four different crops and I might have to do it again. It can be as easy as you like, or as hard as you want to be able to do this challenge.
Shall we get started and look at the original image for this last week?
The Original
I knew that this week it was time to address the actual arch on this image. Make it part of the crop.
Week 4 Image
I tried to make it like what I have done with some other images that I took that day, like a zoomed in effect. Shall we take a look?
Yeah, I went a bit wild. It has turned out to have quite an antique look to it and is, I suppose, my monochrome image for the month.
You name it, almost, I did it to this one. I added so many Effects to it just to see what I could get. The Effects from ON1 that I used were Glow, LUTs, Antique, Vintage, Borders and finally Textures. I just added some, deleted others, and just kept going until I was reasonable happy with the outcome. What do you think?
Well, that is it for this month. What are your thoughts? I’m going to add the gallery as I normally do, but would love to know if you have a favourite. I think for me it was Week 3. I really liked how that came out.
Here is the gallery with all the images for you.
Gosh, it’s so hard to choose a favourite Leanne.. I think this idea is a great one and I hope you do it again!! 😀
Week 1 and 3 draw my eye first…
What a fun month you’ve had.
Thank you Robyn, if I found the right image I might do it again. I did have fun this month.
It was a fun and refreshing approach to this challenge.
Thanks Robyn, always a good way to start.
I enjoy your One Four Challenges and learn something new with processing just about every time. In this series I really like week 4’s outcome. Very nostalgic.
That’s good to hear Donna. I think trying different things is great for this challenge. I can go wild. Thank you Donna, glad you like it.
I love playing with my photos, sometimes too much. You’re a fabulous photographer. The landscape is quite interesting in your part of the world I probably shall never see it but it’s nice I can do so from the comfort of my chair. 🙂
Playing with photos is a great thing to do and doing too much is also good, shows you how far you can or not go. Thank you. I know what you mean, I see things from around the world that I know I will never see, thank goodness for the internet.
I am very thankful to see the world through other people’s eyes. The Internet is an amazing thing!
Me too.
Interesting
Thank you.
Great use of one photo, creating many.
Thank you Anne.
Catching up with Sandy tomorrow.
Very creative.
Thank you Egidio.
I am going to give this a shot (pardon the pun) as well Leanne. So to be clear – since I read fast and am short on time so sometimes get things wrong – we take one image and then process it four different ways? and Then is the hash tag #onefour ? Thanks
Hahaha, yeah that is pretty much it, just post each photo each week over the month. So the first photo you post will be next week. I look forward to it.
Just as an aside, there are 5 Thursday in July, so the last one we just have fun with the image when it happens.
I actually like the original the best, with the dark blue sky and dark rocks below, the moodiest
That’s fair enough Beth. I’m hoping to go back soon and do more photos at a different time of day. Thank you.
I think I like this final edit the most. Looking at all your edits together, one thing I can say is that when you have enough pixels in one photo you can make many completely different images from it.
That’s good to hear IJ. That’s true you can, but it also needs to be an image that makes it possible, I suppose. Thank you.
I love this variation! If I didn’t know where it came from, I’d see it as a wonderful abstract. I love the border, the overall toning. This one is a hit! (The entire series is great!)
That is a wonderful compliment Joanne. Thank you so much, glad you like it.
I am interested in what you produce. But you know me. It’s nothing I would bother to do myself. And I have found this one more interesting than the previous ones, where you were using different effects on the same photo. I like seeing how many different views you can get from a single shot.
Thank you Margaret, I don’t know what to do with it, but have decided to do it for another month at least. That’s okay Margaret, I get that you aren’t into doing this sort of thing.
👍
☺️
In truth, it’s too hot to interested in anything…🥹
Do you mean where you are? I’ve heard it has been hot in the USA. It is really cold here.
In the US and especially here. We are semi-tropical to begin with, but today was 100 f . At times the humidity was close to 100%. AC, none even made, can keep up with this.
That sounds horrible. We complain if we get humidity for a few days. Thankfully we don’t get a lot of it. We get hot temperatures, but it tends to be a dry heat, so much better. I hope you get a break from the heat soon. Take care Ted.
Oh, I like this one! It looks like something from the history books–very old. Good one, Leanne.
Oooh thank you Lois, I like that you think it looks old.
