It seems for the image this week I just went for it.
ON1 Photo RAW 2025 was the software used for this image again. I am finding myself spending lots of time looking at the videos, playing around with what is in the program. Still a lot to learn, but hey I am liking that. One thing I love is that you can just go to a setting and completely get rid of everything you have already done and then start over. It is really good for this challenge to be able to do that.
Now before we get started, for those of you who are interested in what the One Four Challenge is, you can find out by going to this link for more information.
So the image was reset from last week and I was left with the original again and here it is.
I started from scratch and with each image I had to straighten it, not much, but a little bit. Then I always do all the basic editing that we do to every image.
What else did I do to it, good question. I don’t really remember. I know I used another preset, one of the tintype ones that I got when I purchased the latest update. They are kinda cool.
I also used the Match Color Effect which is also very interesting. I used a painting from a artist that I like to match the colour scheme.
Both of those effects helped to create an antique feel, I think. Sadl,y I was playing around with so much stuff, I don’t really remember what else I did. I think this is where doing videos could be good.
This was the final result, and I don’t mind it. It has an old look to it, like a faded photo that hasn’t been treated well. What do you think?
Here is the before and after.
As I always do, here is the gallery with all the images so far. Now I need to start thinking about what to do for the next one. I need to watch more videos.
This week’s version is very effective.. it does have an old feel to it.
Love the very moody skies with this one.
I like that you’re exploring the program Leanne.. it’s pretty great isn’t it?!
Thank you Robyn, I think the old feel is something that monochrome can be so good for.
I am loving the program Robyn, I’m finding myself going to it first before PS. I have purchased Affinity so will take a look at that too.
I kind of like the antiquey look
Good to hear Beth, thank you.
Good image, Leanne. I like this one the best, especially the sky. Good work.
Thank you Joanne, that’s good to hear. The sky got that way because of the texture that was put on it, pretty effective.
For me, the wood is the subject in this image, and this last edit detracts from the wood, causing it to fade onto the beach.
I totally agree Anne, it is interesting how you can make the viewer focus on different things. Thank you Anne.
