Weekend Wanderings: Butterfuly House with the Velvet 56

While I have the Lensbaby Velvet 56 it is my intention to use it as much as possible to see what I can get with it. I do hope you won’t get sick of the photos, but I have to say for some things it is magic.

I went to the main Melbourne Zoo the other day and took a walk through the Butterfly House. I wanted to see what I could get with the Velvet 56. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t think I have tried to capture butterflies up close like this before. Now I want to go back with more gear to see what else I can get.

It is a busy weekend here and I can’t talk too long, I have to go and finish my book so I am just going to leave you with a selection of the butterflies I took. I hope you like them.

  2. Stunning photos, I have taken some shots there and difficult take a bad photo. great result from you.

  3. Those butterflies look familiar! I too went to Melbourne Zoo’s butterfly enclosure recently and had a play. Very different results to yours of course. Would love to go back soon. It looks like you get interesting effects with the Lensbaby depending on what you choose to focus on.

    1. Yes, we probably photographed the same ones. It is fun there, I will go back with you, no problem, let me know. I am, and I’m also really starting to work out the best way of using it, which is good. Thanks Chris.
