Early morning sunrise in Heidelberg

This morning seemed like a good time to get up early and try to capture the sunrise here in Heidelberg. It was really nice to get up early morning to go out and take some photos. The sunrise was worth it.

I was going to go one spot, actually I did go there, but it didn’t look good so I tried somewhere else. I went up on top of the one of the biggest hills in Melbourne. You can see what I got.

The Austin Hospital is on the right and the road goes right down into Heidelberg’s shopping area.

I hope you like it too.

  1. While I thoroughly enjoy your wonderful landscape and urban compositions, you also have stimulated a wanderlust to visit your beautiful country and city! You should be retained by your Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Bureau as your images so wonderfully capture the beauty of the landscapes and flora together with the urban excitement and vibrancy of Melbourne. I know you have been trying to promote your artistry in a more commercial vein, perhaps you could pursue work with the CoC, tour companies, hospitality industry, etc? Your work clearly lies beyond the usual (boring) travel brochure content. Just a thought. Thanks.

    1. Thank you Jerry, that is good to hear that I have made you want to come to Australia.
It is funny you have mentioned this, because it is something that I have been thinking about pursuing as well. I think I need to build my blog more, but I am starting to look into ways of doing all this. I do love Melbourne and love promoting and nothing makes me prouder than hearing that I influenced someone to come here. I just need to get advertisers or businesses to see the value in it as well.

  2. I grew up in Heidelberg, back in the days when the Eaglemont Dairy sent out a horse-drawn cart full of glass bottles of milk every morning. The Austin looked a little different back then, but thanks for the memory. 🙂

    1. Wow, I bet it looks very different now. No dairies in Eaglemont now, all houses. We still have farmland around where I am, but all part of the green belt that follows the Yarra River. The Austin has changed a lot, even in the 24 years we have been here. I will have to try to do more for you. It is quite a nice area. Thank you too.
