Lens Artists Challenge #270: On Display

Well would you look at this, I’m doing it again. I enjoyed it last week and when I saw what the theme was, at first I thought, I can’t do that, but then I realised I had some photos that would fit it. So here I am participating again.

This week we are being asked to show displays of all sorts and Β Ann-Christine asks us to post Β has come up with this. Make sure to check out her post.

My first gallery is from the Melbourne Show and is from when I went a few years ago. I don’t go much because I hate the crowds. I don’t know if the rides photographed at night are considered displays, but I like them, so I put them in.

This next lot are displays I’ve seen at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show over the years.

I had to stop myself there. When you start thinking about it there are so many things you could do for On Display. Thank you Ann-Christine for being this weeks host, is that the right word, not sure. Still thank you.

  1. A terrific collection. Leanne! I especially love your urban scenes at night. I’m delighted that you joined us!

    1. Thank you Patti, urban scenes at night can be so amazing, they almost make things cleaner.
I saw your other comments Patti, I moderate my comments so they don’t show up until I approve them. I approve them when I can respond, that way I catch everyone of them. I have had trouble in the past and this works well for me.

  2. Thank you for joining in, Leanne! A treat. Love your displays, flowers are always favourites, but the night shots in Melbourne and the caroussel are eye catching for sure. Short moments of fun so well captured. Loved the fisheye too, I have tried my son’s a couple of times, but not that successfully.

    1. Thank you Leya, it has been fun contributing and I’m sure I will do it again. I love flowers too. Fisheyes are strange, you never know what will work and what won’t. I just try everything.
I see you have tried to comment a few times, I moderate my comments, so they don’t appear on the page until I have approved them, but that usually means when I have time to respond as well. I had trouble in the past so I do this becuase it works best for me. I hope that is okay. I will delete the other ones.

  3. Those are some great displays, Leanne. I love the carousel. It’s like it spinning out of control. Hope you are doing well. πŸ™‚

    1. I always wished carousels would go that fast! Remember the days of holding hands with someone, leaning back and going in circles. If I did that now, I’d be sick! But it was so fun as a kid. Now a carousel would be just perfect. πŸ™‚

    2. Haha, that would be a lot fun if they did. I haven’t been on one for so many years. Yeah, I think you are right Marsha.

    3. My brother and I went to Chicago and rode the Ferris Wheel. He got really dizzy on it and wanted to ride the carousel. I stayed off and took pictures of him. He was a 60-year-old kid!

  4. Dear Leanne
we especially like your pictures of the fair. The carousel, not a crisp picture shows the movement perfectly well.
    Thanks and cheers

    1. The carousel photo was taken a lensbaby lens which is part of the reason for most of it being blurry, though there is a bit in the middle that is in focus, just. Thank you so much.

  5. Well welcome back Leanne, so glad you’ve joined us again! Loved your response of course – those flower displays are incredible! Actually I loved all of your images (as usual) which are perfect for the challenge. And yes, host is indeed the right word 😊

    1. Thank you Tina, it is a lot of fun, I’m sure I will do more. That is one thing about the flower show you get some great flower displays. Good to know that host is the right word, I wasn’t sure.

    1. Thank you so much Anne. Have done shots like that, though these were done with a fisheye lens, it was good fun to see the results.

  6. They are all fine images, and I like the carousel as much as you do (to judge by its being atop the post). Flowers are also a favorite of mine.

  7. Oh my, who doesn’t love a merry-go-round, lollipops, and flowers all on display. A wonderful contribution. I agree. I had to stop too. There are so many avenues to take this one. Thanks for joining Leanne.

    1. Thank you Donna, it was a good one to do I think. It is fun, I still don’t know if I will do it each week, but if I think I can I will.

    2. I think the beauty in the challenges is if you are feeling it, you hop in. It is always a great place to showcase what we love. Thanks again.

    1. I am with you John. I enjoyed photographing the lights, but could imagine the interest would last long. However, gardens all day every day. Thank you.
