Floral Friday - Mum's garden

Winter is a hard time for macro photography so I thought it might be nice take a look at some photos I took of Mum’s garden for Floral Friday.

Floral Friday – Mum’s garden

My mum is a gardener. Well, not a gardener, gardener, but loves to garden. Well, she used to until she got into quilting. Still, her garden is quite stunning and it has so many things in it to photograph.

When I first started getting into macro photography I also took it up there with me. Actually, I still do. She and I will wander around and I will take photos. She often points out flowers that she thinks I will find interesting to photograph as well.

One of the things that is good too is that she has a mixture of native and imported flowers. You get a big variety of flowers. It helps that her garden is massive. I couldn’t look after it, too big. I have a hard time with the one I have.

Today I was out all day with some friends, you will find out more about that tomorrow, but I thought it would be nice to look back at some older photos for Floral Friday today. It is also interesting to see how much I have changed with them as well.

I have a heap of photos for you. These were all taken in 2014 during Spring. At the time I didn’t have my own macro lens, but I had a loan of the Tamron 90mm from a company that doesn’t exist anymore. The Tamron lens was fantastic and I think if I hadn’t got a grant to get my Nikon macro it is the one I would have purchased. Occasionally I get to go out with it again and it is always nice to use.
