Floral Friday – What you can find at Healesville Sanctuary

Floral Friday - macro from Healesville

Yesterday I found myself at Healesville Sanctuary and one of the things I was hoping to do was take some photos of flowers there. I even packed my macro lens.

Let me tell you what I found, 3 flowers. It seems I was too late for them. At Healesville it is all about Australian flora and fauna and our plants tend to not blossom in summer, not really. They preserve what they can to keep alive. It seems like we have had a hot summer this year. It has been horrible, bring on winter.

Because I didn’t really get any flowers, I decided to find some old ones that I have posted before. I hope you like them.

  1. Don’t you hate it when you get all set to shoot somewhere, and you go and find it’s not all what you expected and there’s nothing to shoot?! I like your feature image a lot.

    1. Oh absolutely, sadly it seems to happen to me too often. Thankfully there were plenty of animals to shot, well take photos of anyway. Thank you Joanne.

    1. Yeah, I can understand that, though when it is flowering it is quite beautiful. Though if you are new to our fauna then it could be distracting. Thank you.

    1. I suspect that, especially for photography, March to October, maybe a bit shorter is the best time for most countries around the world. Thank you Anne.
