Our host this week is Ann-Christine from the blog Leya and she is asking us to set a mood. At first glance I thought, ohh I can do this one. Isn’t this what my photos are all about?
But then I started to worry that maybe I didn’t really know if I had it. I decided to do some searching on the internet and I found this:-
Once I saw the word atmosphere I thought yeah, I can do this. People often say my photos have lots of atmosphere, so I just needed to find some of those.
I have a lot of these images, so I had to work out what to use. Obviously, I couldn’t put hundreds. Well maybe I don’t have that many, then again I might. In the end what I decided to do was go through my Instagram account and pick photos that I hope I haven’t shown recently. I think you know that all my photos have been shown before.
It was a nice thing to do, I found some photos that I had forgotten all about.
Here is a gallery with my Setting a Mood photos. Click on an image to get a larger view and then you can click through them.
It was again hard to work out when to stop. Most of these images were taken in and around Melbourne. A couple were taken out in other places, but they are all from Victoria.
I want to thank Ann-Christine for being our host for the Lens-Artists Challenge this week. I think it was a good one. Please go and take a look at her post too, the link is at the start of this post.

your photos are always so intense and mood filled this is no exception. Lovely as always.
Thank you Ritva, I really like doing this to my images.
I’m surprised that you doubted yourself, Leanne. Your photography always sets a mood and you do it like no one else. You did it again with this post, it’s impossible to pick a favourite.
I just had to make sure that I had the right idea, seems I did. Thank you so much Sofia.
You are a master at creating mood in photos
Thank you Nora.
Hi Leanne
why are moody pictures mostly dark? Do we associate mood only with darkness or mist?
Thanks for sharing your pictures
The Fab Four of Cley
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
I don’t think everyone else feels that way, many of the photos from other people are not dark. I just love the dark look, I have always liked it. Thank you.
Your photos always have a distinct mood and atmosphere, and these are no exception. I would love to have enough wall space to hang some of them.
Thank you so much IJ. I do love giving them that look. Enough space on the walls is a problem I have too.
These pictures are phenomenal! I would love to know the set up and setting you used… I can imagine how to do it!
Thank you, though all the work you see is really done in Photoshop.
Awesome. Love all your dreamy shots, Leanne. Victoria never looked so good!
Thank you Teresa, I try my best to give it a facelift, lol.
Great photos from the queen of moody photos
I don’t know about that, but I do love putting lots of mood in my images. Thank you Brian.
Fantastic images, Leanne.
Thank you Sally.
Excellent images and all are definitely moody! Love them!
Thank you so much Terry.
I had been so anxious to see your take on this challenge. My eyes did not get enough. You create moody scenes beautifully!
Oh, I am glad that I didn’t disappoint you Egidio, I hope anyway. I do love creating images like this, my favourite kind. Thank you.
You excel in those creations!
I try my best, thanks Egidio.
I think one of the things you are exceptionally skillful at in your photographs is capturing or conveying atmosphere.
Thank you so much Laura, it is what I love doing too, finding how I can do it in photos.
Perfect for you, your biggest problem was which one 🤗
Very very true Ted, I managed to hold myself back, thank you Ted. 😂😁
I loved your conversation with yourself at the beginning of your post this week Leanne 😊. All of your images have their own mood and your interpretation is spot on. Well done!
Oh dear, I was caught talking to myself here, lol. Thank you so much Tina.
All so beautiful and moody!
Thank you Anne.
