Monochrome Madness #23 – Clouds

Brian from Bushboy’s World is our host this week and he has picked CLOUDS as our theme. Really what an absolutely perfect theme for me as I love love clouds. One of the reasons I don’t like going out and taking photos in good weather with beautiful blue skies, no clouds. I hate photography in summer for this reason.

When the conditions are perfect I like to try and get some long exposures with the clouds moving through the sky.

Now what happens when the clouds aren’t there.

Because I like clouds in my images, it is hard when you go out, and the day is lovely, with nothing in the sky. To help out with days like that I like to use my clouds folder. I have hundreds of different skies to use for those days. I decided it might be nice to show you some of those.

I am fairly certain you would have seen some of these before, though not like this.

I would like to thank Brian from Bushboy’s World for being our host. Please use the link in at the top of this post to check out his post on this. Don’t forget to link back to him as well.

    1. They are, I totally agree Ritva. Maybe it is time for you to try, maybe if you do come to Melb we could do some. Thank you.

  1. Exceptionally mesmerizing!
Every picture here is just speaking so much about the unique aspects of the clouds, which is the reason behind my utmost admiration for them.
This gallery is amazingly serene, Leanne 🙂

  2. I love your long-exposure clouds! That’s not something I’ve attempted as I prefer not to carry a tripod. And what a good idea to keep a clouds folder, I think I should do the same as I agree with you about cloudless skies on the whole 🙂

    1. Yeah long exposure requires more gear and time too, as it can take quite a while to get a good image. I love my clouds folder. Yeah you should, I just take photos when I see good ones. Thank you Sarah.

  3. I knew you would have lots of fabulous clouds Leanne. You didn’t disappoint, these are wonderful.
Thanks for letting me host 🥰

    1. Thank you Brian, I have years and years of photos, I love a good cloudy sky. You’re welcome, you can host anytime, there are more dates on the page if you want to pick another one.

  4. Another terrific atmospheric gallery from you, Leanne. The sky+cloud only pics are interesting, almost like an illutration of different types of clouds but I prefer the photos where they a bit anchored to the land, so to speak. Similar to macros where it helps to have a scale to appreciate the size of something.

    1. Thank you Elke. I like those ones too, it is good to have lots of clouds in a folder though, you never know when you will need them.
