When I was looking for a photo for Monochrome Wednesday I saw this image and it just said vastness to me. Really, that is what the Mallee is like a lot.
Monochrome Wednesday – Vastness
A long time ago I heard someone somewhere describe Montana as the land of the big skies. Well, I’ve never been there, but the idea of big skies is something that I have thought about a lot.
Australia really is a land of big skies. There aren’t many places where that description wouldn’t fit. It certainly describes the area where my mum lives. There are trees there, but they are mostly small, as they struggle to grow in the sand there.
The scene below is fairly typical. It is taken on the edge of a salt lake, but you can see that vastness. The landscape seems to stretch on forever.
This image of a big sky, or vastness is my contribution for Monochrome Wednesday this week.
Joining in
It would be great if you would like to participate, especially if you are enjoying the monochrome challenge again. If you want to contribute there is a Facebook group, TPM Photos which you can join and share your images. Of course, if you are blogging no reason why you can’t post your own. I like this challenge and it is nice to be thinking in monochrome again
