As I said last week I’m concentrating on clouds for this month’s image and trying to see how different I can make it. Though having said that, this week and the next two are using the same sky.
Before we get started, for those of you who are interested in what the One Four Challenge is, you can find out by going to this link for more information.
Let’s get into it and take a look at the original.

One of the cloud formations I have, I took in my local park about 10 years ago. I love the way the clouds are, and it almost looks like they have movement. However, I have always found it hard to make them work in other images as it doesn’t seem to work in most other images. When I first thought about changing the skies in for this image I knew I wanted to try these clouds.
They didn’t work exactly how I thought, meaning I couldn’t just drop the sky in as I wanted part of it to be on top of the Nut, so I had to make it bigger and then crop it.
I also faced a similar problem as last week. I wanted more sky, but didn’t want to sacrifice the foreground, so I extended the image and made it square. I also used the same mask for the sky that I had done last week.

I wanted the rolling clouds to look like they were coming from the Nut. I think it worked. I hope the foreground rocks lead your eye to the Nut and then to the clouds.
Again, the header image is a cropped version of this.
Here is the gallery for you to check out each week we have done so far. Do you have a favourite yet?
Clouds are fascinating to watch. Love your work using them!
They are, I love them. Thank you.
Amazing images, especially the last one!
Thank you Amy.
I like what you’re doing this cycle with the clouds. The original image is a good one to work with. Each of the cloud formations gives the image a different look, and it even seems as if the foreground tonality has been changed, which it hasn’t.
Thank you Joanne. Interesting observations, I like what you have said. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of weeks.
oooooh!
Thanks Sue.
The last one looks like the clouds are exploding out of the rock (?rock formation, I think). I like them all.
That was the look I was going for, so it is good to hear you say that, thank you Peabea.
I like this version!!
That’s great Nora, thank you.
Spectacular.
Thank you Bill.
Beautiful capture!
Thank you so much Pamela.
