The tiny Kodak Charmera Keychain Digital Camera

When I started researching the Instax Pal camera, I kept seeing videos and such for the Kodak Charmera Keychain Digital Camera. It is a very small camera, and as the name says, you can hang it on your keychain because it is so small. I do have to admit that it was even smaller than I thought it would be. I am hoping the image above shows that.

It is a different camera from the other one I’ve been showing you, in that it has a screen on the back where you can see what you are taking, albeit on a very small screen, you know, because it is a small camera.

It is also capable of video, though not sure how good that would be. I haven’t really tried that. So far, I have only taken photos.

The file sizes aren’t massive, but I suppose it is more for people who just want to post photos on social media.

I enjoyed playing with it. Got a few strange looks when I was holding it up to take photos.

Unlike the Instax, this one does not come with an app to help you. There are settings in the camera to change your images, but they are hard to work out, so for this outing, I just stuck with the default ones. I will play with them more in the future.

I don’t think this one takes photos as well as the Instax Pal, and it really struggles in high contrast places, with highlights being blown right out. The photos aren’t great, but I can see people liking them. I bought one for my daughter, and then she got them for her friends, so I assume that means they like them. They are fun to play around with.

I have to say, though, it is really bad with macro. What it does to the flowers is too weird. Definitely won’t be taking it out to the garden. It seems the focal length is really far.

The camera costs around AUD$50 here, so it is very cheap. It comes with 7 different designs or colours, but you don’t know what you will get until you open it. One is clear and is the most sought after. I have ordered 5 of them, and surprisingly, they have all been different, but there was no clear one.

I have picked some of the better photos for you to check out.
