Viewing one building in different ways – Australia 108

Recently, I spent the morning walking around Southbank and along city road with a friend. One of the buildings we took photos of is one of the newest in Melbourne. It is also now the tallest. The building is Australia 108.

I have photographed this building before, but from a distance, but this time we decided to go the bottom of it and see what we could get. That meant that most of the photos were taken looking up the side of it, or from a bit of distance.

It is interesting doing photos like this, and you get to see all the different shapes that the building has. I never really thought this building was that interesting, but seeing it like this, I might have changed my mind. It is a lot more interesting than just a blue and yellow building.

From a distance, you don’t see the gardens that go up the side for the first few floors. You can see how the yellow bit reflects into the blue of the building. There are also so many different shapes to it, and it isn’t just a rectangular building.

My friend loves this building, and I think I might be persuaded to think a bit differently about it now. We will see.

  1. Beautifully captured – they’re all stunning. The deep blues and shadows make the greens and golds pop perfectly. And the building itself? Definitely futuristic, definitely photogenic.
    Have a great weekend, Leanne!

  2. Wow. Oh, Leanne–I want more photos of this building! Lots more. How did someone even think of building something like this?! I think it is pretty fantastic.

    1. Thank you Lois, I’m sure there will be more, not sure when. I have no idea, but it is nice to see something other than a rectangle.
