Working out things – Making plans

Welcome to 2023.

It is a new year and it is time to start planning what I want to do this year. For the last few years I have lost the plot with my blog and I want to get serious about it again.

I would really like to reintroduce some of the types of posts that I used to do, like the Introductions and Weekend Wanderings. I know that people used to enjoy them and I enjoyed doing them as well. I don’t think I will do them every week at this stage but will see how I go. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see as well.

I am trying to decide if I will keep doing the processing posts. This is where I need feedback from you guys.

At the moment, I am doing 4 posts a week and I like that, but I might introduce a fifth post from time to time. We will see.

Monochrome Madness will definitely continue. I am loving doing that again. It is a challenge for someone who loves working with colour.

I would like to do more reviews of gear. That usually depends on getting a loan of things, which isn’t always possible. However, I do have a lot of my own gear that I can use and review. I hope that is something that people will be interested in.

Along those same lines, there will be discussions about problems that I have with some things and how I have solved them or worked out what the problems were. You will see one of those posts in the near future.

So I hope that sounds good. I do need help and feedback from you. I am looking forward to seeing what we can create this year.

The photos today are a preview really. I went to the Blue Lotus Water Gardens the other day. I took lots of photos, but I only have these for you. So hint, there will be a longer post on the gardens soon.

Let’s bring it on, into 2023 we go.

  1. Great stuff Leanne. I can already sew why you love photography. The creativity is written all over this blog post , stunning photos of flowers there. Looking forward to reading your 2023 work🔥🔥🙏

  2. Your plan sounds good – very ambitious – 4 posts per week. I have sort of been out of touch with your blog, and I apologize. Regular visiting is on my schedule from now on during 2023 – maybe not 4 days a week – but I can catch up when I stop by each week. I miss you and seeing all of your posts and comments, too. Your work is always an inspiration to me. 🙂 Talk to you soon. Let me know when you are free. 🙂

    1. Thank you Marsha, I think it is easy to do, especially because I’m not doing any other social media really. No problem Marsha, I don’t mind if people can’t keep up. Pop in when you can. I’m hoping for tomorrow morning here Marsha, I will let you know.

    2. That would be about 4:00 pm today for me. Puppy Girl has a 2:30 pm appointment with the vet, so that gives me plenty of time to get back to my computer. Talk to you soon! 🙂 Can’t wait!

  3. Just found your gardening site. I would love to read it when you post but I couldn’t see anything that allowed me to register to follow it and I am very bad at following blogs where I have to remember to look.

    1. Thank you RJ, I do want to get better at posting there. If you go to a post on the page, on the right near the title of the post it has a subscribe there. YOu just put your email in. I hope it is there. I can see it. If you can’t do it let me see if I can do it for you.

  4. For me it’s the exact opposite – I had surgery to remove cataracts a couple of years ago and since then the difference in how I see color is so dramatic that as someone who often works with monochrome, it’s a bigger challenge to work with color. As I often say on my own blog site – whatever direction you decide to go make sure you’re shooting photos, not each other! Reviews of gear are often quite fun, and processing posts are still rather enjoyable in my opinion.

    1. That is interesting Chris, I wouldn’t have thought that about having cataracts removed. I like what you always say and couldn’t agree more. Thanks for you feedback too.

  5. Wonderful thoughts you have had. I am glad to see that you will be getting back to more of your photography. Personally, I would like to see some of the “how to’s”. I loved your insight and instruction. Happy New Year!

    1. Thank you Tim, I think it is time to get back to it all. Good feedback, I appreciate that. Happy New Year to you as well.

  6. Happy New Year Leanne!! You have definitely had changes in posts over the last couple of years. But, I have found that I feel I know you better than I did with just the drop dead gorgeous landscapes…low light stuff especially….so maybe a plot was lost or maybe the outline was filled in a bit more. I enjoy all of it. That lighthouse picture above is wonderful!!

    1. Thank you Judy, yeah the blog did get a bit more personal there for a while. I don’t know that I will do that here, but I did start another blog that I want to do more personal thing on.

I don’t know how often I will blog there. I want to do once a week, but haven’t done that yet. Glad you liked it all Judy.

  7. Hi Leanne, your proposed approach sounds great. I enjoy the general photographica and I look forward to following your processing approaches (when I get the time…work and exhaustion get in the way at present). The equipment reviews are interesting – primarily for the insights into equipment use. Thank you for your efforts…

  8. I love your work and insights. Thank you for sharing so much. Sounds like you have a good plan. Would love to see the wanderings and intro’s again.

  9. Hi Leanne. Here’s my input. I like monochrome madness and have to start participating. I don’t do challenges easily, and really don’t know how I ended up on the LAPC team. I like your educational posts and would love if you did some on Lightroom, but I don’t know if you use it. Your challenges with gear and reviews are also great topics. Most of all, I just want to see your amazing photography.

    1. Hi Anne. I would love you to participate in the Monochrome Madness. That challenge you have been doing is massive. I do use Lightroom, but I don’t consider myself very good at it, but I could give it a go, if you think it would be okay. I can try one and see. Thank you so much Anne.

  10. I’ve always found your blog to be very lovely and creative, do what and when feels right to you, and not like work.
