Dave has one of these phones and he won’t give it to me. OMG I love the camera in it. It is so good.
I took it out into the garden to do some photos of flowers. My Samsung isn’t great for doing this sort of photography, and I can’t get too close. The Pixel realises what I’m trying to do and changes to macro mode or flower mode. How cool is that?
With my phone I have to change it to macro, but not with the Pixel, as I just said.
So I went out in the rain to take some photos and below is what I got. I haven’t done anything to these images. Dave says it uses AI most likely, and I think he is right. I took them, transferred them to my computer, and then resized them. That’s it. I wouldn’t mind playing around with it more, but not sure how much Dave will let me do that.
Now how do I get one of these? lol I wish you could just get the camera. What do you think of these images?
I would never have guessed these were taken with a phone!
I was amazed at how good they were, not like my phone at all. Thank you Sarah.
Gorgeous, I wouldn’t have imagined a phone camera could show such detail, even close up.
Thank you Paul, I agree, I was so surprised.
Gorgeous shots.
Thank you.
Wow! Are these all from the Google Pixel 8? Amazing macros!
They are Egidio, I was surprised with the results too. Thank you.
So this is funny. I have the Pixel 8a and the uncanny nature of its photos drove me straight to a camera app that lets me shoot in RAW. lol. I’m terrified that I’ll lose appreciation for the beauty of reality if I get too used to AI imaging.
That said, these photos ARE stunning.
That is interesting about your phone, maybe the difference between the two. I don’t know. I think you just have to realise that it is probably AI and use you normal camera for the good stuff. I only ever use the phone for fun really.
Thank you so much.
Beautiful images, Leanne. I love to photograph flowers and all nature.
Thank you Sally. They are fantastic to photograph, flowers I mean.
Gorgeous!! Amazing florals. Good stuff!!
Thank you Julie.
Beautiful floral shots!
Thank you Rebecca.
Wow, the device takes great photos, Leanne! I guess you will have to get your own phone. πβ€οΈπ
Doesn’t it, I was really surprised. I am still experimenting with it, but so far I feel ripped off with mine, lol. I might have to John, thank you.
I picked up a Pixel 7 a few months ago, found out it has a 50MP camera in it.
I got it for completely different reasons (GrapheneOS) and I rarely use the camera on my phone anyway; but they’re pretty nice. You could look for a refurb version.
All else, Dave seems like a reasonable guy… I doubt you’ll have to resort to violence π
I’m a bit the same, but sometimes it is nice to be able to use your phone as well. Dave looked at the Pixel 7 as well, but decided on the 8. Maybe I can wait for the 9.
I will have to tell Dave what you said Matt, thank you. ππ
Really professional shots. Each flower looks as gorgeous as it should.
Thank you Margaret, the phone did a good job.
Pretty
Thank you Beth.
The images are crisp and clear, but I don’t see the nice bokeh you’d get with a camera. Remember Mother’s Day, Christmas, Birthday–hint!
I don’t think taking photos with your phone is going to replace your camera, at least not yet, exactly lke this. Hahaha, I told Dave what you said, lol. thank you Anne.
