Well, would you look at me, actually reading what I had to do for this week’s challenge set by Anne from Slow Shutter Speed. She has given us a list of things for a scavenger hunt, whether that be virtually or in reality, I went for the former. Sad to say, I’m still working on Wedding photos, and time is very limited right now, though they should be done in the next couple of days. You couldn’t pay me enough to be a wedding photographer. What they do is amazing, but so time consuming.
Most of you have seen these photos before, but I thought they fit 6 of the things in her list. The header photo is Something with a design, or maybe something with a pattern. I think it works for both. It is the foyer of the Victorian Parliament House.
Let’s take a look.
Something circular
Silos are circular, perhaps not from the way we are looking, but they are cylinders, so I think it fits this one.
Some cool jewellery
When I first got a macro lens, one of the things I experimented with was photographing jewellery. I took this back in 2014. Not easy to photograph. This is my cool jewellery.
Something with water in it
Lakes seem like an obvious thing that have water in them, so I went back a long way to an image of the pink lakes when there was water in them.
Something glass
I’ve shown this image a lot, but I love all the glass and what is reflected in it, so I hope it’s okay that I use it for Something Glass.
Something with a soft texture
I tried to think of what has a soft texture, and I thought of soft, delicate, then I came up with a flower. I have always thought this image of the flower has a very soft texture.
I have 6 photos for this challenge, I believe that fits the brief for this one.

hello leanne
A wonderful and interesting selection of pictures. I like them very much.
Especially the pictures Something with water in it and Something with a soft texture.
Many greetings, Robert
Thank you Robert, that’s great hear.
I love the glass with the view through it. A very artistic image. Overall, a nice selection for Anne’s challenge.
Thank you Joanne, I love that image too, helps that the reflection is a beautiful building.
The pink lake is wonderful, Leanne, what a fantastic photo! I also love your soft flower, strange I didn’t think of that! I did 3 weddings a long time ago, loved the first one, the second was ok, the last one made me think never again. All friends or family, you are right, very demanding work!
Thank you Sofia, it was taken many years ago. I thought the soft petals of flowers would work. I hear you on the weddings, they really, the day of the wedding is so exhausting, and then all the processing. They have to be very special people to get me to do it.
Not sure my comment went through. A great collection with the pink lake my favorite. Good luck with the wedding shoot. I can’t imagine the work that goes into it.
It didn’t go through Donna, so thank you for leaving another one. That’s great to hear, the pink lakes are amazing. I think digital has made it more work really, nothing like dropping off the films end of story, lol.
That’s a wonderful selections. It’s hard to find one which I like less than the others.
Thank you so much IJ.
Nice picks for your response, Leanne! I have had the opportunity to photograph two weddings, daughters of friends. I politely declined in both cases. Truthfully, I don’t want to be responsible for accidentally losing the photos, or even in not doing a good job as portraiture is not my strong suit.
Thank you John. I’ve done weddings before, not many, but a few, and I know the bride really well, and she kept telling me that would be fine with what i did, and so far she has loved them. Still a lot of work and if she wasn’t close to the family I would have said no. I had the same thoughts too, but I took all the precautions I could to make sure everything would be okay. She will see them soon, so I hope she likes them.
Definitely on brief and some excellent photos! My favourites are the pink lake and that gorgeous flower 🙂
That’s good Sarah, thank you so much.
I love the owl and the windows of confusion Leanne 😀
I love your description of the windows Brian, lol. Thank you.
👍🏼😁
😊😊
Great response – the owl is cute
Thank you Nora. It was a nice necklace.
Well done and I liked the jewelry and the glass the best
Thank you Beth, that’s wonderful.
Great and beautiful photos, Leanne. The opening photo is fantastic.
Thank you so much Egidio.
I love the image design and glass images.
Nice choices Mike, thank you.
Excellent set, Leanne. 🙂
Thank you Jane.
Leeanne, I love all of these! My favorite is the soft texture.
That’s great Beth, thank you so much.
Scavenger hunt…..what a good idea!!!!
Yeah Anne came up with it, interesting challenge, thanks Geoff.
I totally agree about being a wedding photographer!
They work hard!
They do, I understand why they get paid a lot of money.
Me too!
😊
I love this set. Especially the soft glow of the flower. 😊
Thank you Mike, one of my all time favourite flower images.
The glass image is beautiful and the light on the silos is so pretty. That is a very good circular.
I love that glass image too, I love showing it. Thank you so much Lois.
Wow Leanne, I’m so glad you took time from editing your wedding photos to play with me. I did my granddaughter’s wedding and would never do another! Red bridesmaid dresses against a red brick wall doesn’t really work! Loved all these images.
Thank you Anne, it has been hard, but I think I am just about done now. Yeah, I think for me to photograph another wedding it would have to be for someone very special. That sounds so hard.
