Long Exposure Bridges – a collection

Long Exposure Bridges - a collection

For other reasons, I thought I would do a post with a collection of my long exposure bridges images. This is a bit different to what I have been doing here.

I was asked to be a judge for a competition. This competition is for Formatt Hitech and it will be a long exposure comp. So I had to decide what it would be about and I chose long exposure bridges.

Long Exposure Bridges

Bridges are one of my favourite things to photograph when doing long exposures. I don’t quite understand my fascination with them, but it is there. There are a lot of people who love bridges too. Something about photographers and bridges I think.

So I thought I would put together a collection of some of my favourite photos that I have taken over the years.

Here is the collection.

This blog now and in the future

It is a bit different from what I have been showing. I haven’t been able to get out this year to do photos, but that should change after the new year. However, this blog is not going to go back to being a photography blog.

From now on it is going to be about me and my life. That means all aspects of it, well the ones I think you would want to hear about. It is also going to be combined with videos and YouTube I hope. I like doing the videos of my garden and such.

If you want me to let you know about the competition say so in the comments.

Take care

  1. I love you long exposures. I love the cloud and seafarer bridge composition, its very dynamic and dramatic. Good luck in your new blog venture

  2. Being asked to be a judge is a wonderful thing and you know this business of long exposure shooting so well!! I have enjoyed the direction of your blog into the other aspects of your full life as well. Not that I’ve been inspired as of yet to make sour dough bread. I tend to avoid any kind of baking under the pretense that I would wreck my diet and eat what I bake. Thinking cookies I guess…though I have happy memories of my mother’s Tollhouse cookies. Ummm!! But, I appreciate the process and chemistry of the whole endeavor!!

    1. Thank you Judy, it will be interesting to be the judge.
It has been good to hear that many of you are liking the new direction. I must say I am loving it. It is nice to talk about stuff that is part of my life.
I think baking does have a downside, I have backed back a bit for the time being, though might do more with Christmas coming. Oh what are those cookies, I’ve never heard of them.

  3. I’ve followed you for a while on your blog, and always loved your photography….it is amazing. But truly understand wanting to diversify some, and will be nice to read about other things you like. Been blogging since about 2009, and enjoy visiting other blogs. Mine has gone to one sided lately too so I’m thinking need to get back to more of a potpourri of subjects as well. Happy Day.

    1. Thank you Peabea, that is great to hear and I’m also pleased to hear that you understand why I want to change. I’ve been blogging almost as long, I started in Jan 2010. I like that way of saying it, the potpourri of ideas, that I what I’m trying. Happy day to you.

  4. Wow…I have always loved your photographs! Stunning. But I do enjoy your new posts too – definitely different than before. 🙂

    1. Thank you Zelmare, it is good to hear that. I am loving the direction that my blog is going now and it is good to hear that others are enjoying it too. That is wonderful.

  5. Several of these photos are familiar to me from past posts.
I love this series! These are perhaps my favorite photos of yours.
They are so engaging. There’s so much to contemplate in each one.
    Thanks Leanne!

    1. I have shown them all before, so I can understand why they seem familiar. Thank you so much Mary, it was great looking at them again. It has been too long.

  6. Oh my, I had forgotten how much I loved your photography. Your pictures are beautiful!

Bridges are cool with a lot of interesting geometric shapes. I love them too, but Salt Lake City isn’t exactly known for its bridges. 😂

For me, my big photo go to is marinas and boats. I just look love them. Same as bridges – cool shapes, lines and colors.

Let me know what you think of judging. Take care of yourself and stay safe.

    1. Thank you Tim, it has been a while since I did any, but I’m hoping after Christmas I will get into it again.

Bridges are amazing, what a shame you don’t have many. That is sad.
Well Marinas and boats are fantastic subjects too. I have judged before, it is a strange thing to do. The other time I had to stand up in front of people, which wasn’t as good.
