This week our host for Monochrome Madness is Sarah from Travel with me and her theme is LEADING LINES. I think this is something that all of us photographers should know about. Now I’m sure Sarah will give us a definition for it, so please head over to her blog to find out more. She will help you work out what it is.
I have gone through my photos that I have used for monochrome madness before and found ones that I think have leading lines. Leading lines are such great tools for photos and I think we naturally look for them. It seems like an instinctual thing to do.
I have a selection of images here for you to see.
I hope you will help to thank Sarah for being our host and you will go and take a look at her post. The link is at the start of the post.
Participating in Monochrome Madness
If you would like to participate in this challenge please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then I can use the reader to see what you post.
You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to my monochrome madness post in your post and it leaves a link in the comment section.
Don’t forget to check out the Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced and there is also all the information for participating. We have also included a list of themes that will be coming in the future so if you want to be able to plan ahead you can. They aren’t in order, but will happen. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.
Also if you would like to host one week or more, let me know.

I particularly like the two last water photos. They show such clear cut lines.

Thank you Elke, I love piers, that helps.
It may help. It definitely shows.

Some crackers here, Leanne. I especially like the watery shots. Here’s mine this week, which I’ve made Sarah aware of too: https://margaret21.com/2024/11/14/a-line-is-a-visual-trail-of-energy/
Thank you Margaret, glad you like them.
You have such lovely water scenes, Leanne 🙂.
That’s nice of you to say PR, thank you so much. 😀
Gorgeous photos!
Thank you Egidio.
Oh godness. The first one and the two last ones are exquisite!
Thank you so much Sofia. I think everyone did well this one.
Love the Watins Bay pier, and the header image especially
Thank you Sue, that was taken a while ago I should go back and visit there again some time. The header image was special, the pier was knocked over by a boat a few months after it was taken, sadly.
Wonderful Leanne. A great subject that works so well in monochrome
Thank you Brian, I think so too, Sarah did well.
Nice
Thanks.
A treat as always. I like the Daylesford road shot best.
Thank you, I love foggy country roads.
Great examples of leading lights Leanne! I especially love that snowy road through woods and the dramatic lighthouse shot!
Thank you Sarah, that one of the snowy road is only one of 3 times I’ve seen snow in Australia.
Lines are mesmerizingly wonderful in monochrome
They certainly are Hammad, thank you.
Beautiful photos as always, Leanne! That dock looks terribly rickety! 😂
Thank you John, I was lucky to get that photo as not long after it was destroyed by a boat I think it was. So it is gone now.
Great job!
Thanks, it was lucky.
Beautiful leading line images Leanne!
Thank you Anne.
What a wonderful variety!
Thank you Dawn.
