We have a guest Host this week, Stupidity Hole, and he has chosen the theme THE SPACE BETWEEN. This is a hard one, and I’ve done my best to find some images for it.
I had to really think about what the space between was. I decided to take it from two opposite sides and what could be between. So I looked for sides. I looked for what you find on a street, or in a lane. Then I thought about the sides of a bridge, but then I went even bigger and did the sky and the land or water.
Here are the images I came up with.
Very interesting theme this week, if not challenging. I can’t wait to see how much better everyone did than me. 😁
It was fun having a guest host this week, and I look forward to having more next year. Please help me thank Stupidity Hole for being our host this week. You can find the link to his post at the start of this one.

Really love the ‘floating person’. Great shots all around.
Thank you Ted, I’m happy to hear you like that one.
good choices and I especially like that bridge with the arch
Thank you Beth, that’s my favourite bridge.
I think you have also fulfilled the brief in another way because your compositions really make effective use of negative space which can also be interpreted as a space between.
Thank you Laura, negative space can be fun to play with.
Great photos for the theme Leanne. I love the ball in the alley
Thank you Brian, I was just saying that was a lot of fun to photograph and watch.
This was very interesting! I really like that sphere with the lights shooting off from it. Fantastic, Leanne. You did well!
Thank you Lois, that sphere was incredible to photograph and watch. Hard to believe there is a person in it.
Magical.. so beautiful. Thank you, Love, nia
Thank you Nia.
Good choices, Leanne! I really like the shot of the bridge!
I also had to think a bit before I chose my photos. Originally, I was thinking of the River Rhine, the space between two banks, for quite a stretch between two countries. But they didn’t work so well in black and white. So, I’ve discarded the idea and up with smaller spaces instead: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/12/09/mere-elbow-room/
Thank you Elke, it was a hard challenge.
Very clever Leanne, especially the last one! And thanks for including my favorite bridge!
You’re welcome Anne, glad you liked them, thank you.
