Our first theme for 2026 is MARKETS and has been set by our host, Sarah from Travel with Me. I haven’t been to a market for many years, I’m afraid, since the pandemic. I have become shy around places with a lot of people. Although I think Sarah did say that if you don’t have any market photos, you could show shops. The theme is more about markets, so I had to go back many years to find some photos.
I knew I had photos of the most famous market in Australia, Queen Victoria Market. I have been to it many, many times, but sadly, I rarely take photos there. I did, however, find the following.
Not much, sorry. Funny that I would photograph the Doughnut van. I loved going to the market and getting hot jam doughnuts. They were so good.
Next is a market I have only been to once or twice, but it is a lovely market to visit. This is the St Andrews Community Market in St Andrews. My youngest daughter, Klara, always loved going. Actually, she just loves markets.
I did take my camera on one of the visits, and here are some photos.
There is a real country vibe to it, and very relaxed. The Vic Market is very busy and crazy, so the St Andrews one is much nicer in some respects.
Please help me to thank Sarah for being our host. The link to her post is at the beginning of this one.
