Montsalvat with the infrared camera

I had another opportunity to go back to Montsalvat and I took the infrared camera with me. I had a feeling that it would be a great place to explore with that camera.

Monsalvat is built like a old European town, there are lots of stone buildings and others that look tudor. However, the place has only been around since the 1930’s. It is quite amazing how much effort has gone into making it look like they have been there for centuries.

I wanted to use the infrared camera because I thought it would be perfect for a place like that and I don’t think I was wrong. The buildings, because of the way they were built have so many textures with the stones and bricks. Then on top of that you get lots of wonderful shapes and patterns as well. It is perfect for black and white, and infrared.

One thing that is always gorgeous with infrared are plants or trees. They turn different shades of white and they look like it has been snowing, or the scene has that wintery feeling. My daughter thought it looked very Christmasy. What do you think?

I took lots of photos, but have only done these so far, so there will be more posts on the photos from Montsalvat.

  1. Infrared photography is fun! I bought a Hoya infrared filter a number of years ago and some of my most interesting photos have been taken with that filter!

    Beautiful shots!

  2. The infrared images are beautiful and whatever post processing you have applied looks perfect. Well done and thank you Leanne.
