One Image 4 Ways – Repeating Southern Cross Station Week 1

As I said last week I am doing a repeat of an image that I did for the original challenge back in 2014 when it was called One Four Challenge. I’ve been wondering if you think that is a better name for it? Let me know.

Let’s take a look.

This is an image I took recently at Southern Cross Station on a Sunday afternoon as Social Snappers was finishing an excursion and we were getting ready to get on the train to go home.  I loved the symmetry of where we were, and as we were standing there a train came in and it meant that all the platforms had trains, a full station.  Perfect.

I haven’t done much to this one, just the usual normal processing.

Here is my first attempt at processing it and well doing further processing.  I’ve been trying something and I haven’t quite worked it out, but I’m not too disappointed. I still have three more weeks to work it out.

As I have done before, here the slider for before and after.

Also, as I do with all the challenges here is a gallery of the images so far.

  1. Leanne, are you familiar with a similar change to your topic? I noticed a post from Brian involving a challenge called “One-to-three Photo Processing Challenge.” It seems similar to yours. It’s in the XingfuMama blog.

    1. I have seen that challenge, but I like the idea of doing 4, as there are usually 4 weeks in a month and you can present one each week. I don’t mind if it is just me, it is a tough one to do and I like the challenge.

  2. The symmetry of Southern Cross Station and the timing with all the platforms filled create such a balanced, dynamic image. Your initial processing gives it a classic, polished look that brings out the details beautifully. I’m really looking forward to seeing how you’ll experiment with this scene over the next few weeks and develop your ideas further. It’s fascinating to watch the subtle changes evolve each time, and the gallery format is perfect for comparing the progress.

    1. I have to say it was a lucky shot to get all those trains. Thank you Anna, it is interesting to see what you can do with an image. I am glad you like the gallery format, I feel the same way about it.

  3. I wish I had a creative name for the challenge, but nothing other than Four from One Challenge is what bubbles up in my mind. AI suggests Four Takes, One Truth.

    1. Yeah, it is hard to know what to call challenges. Though I am the only one doing this, so it probably doesn’t really matter what we call it. lol. Yeah, not sure I like what AI suggest, 😂 Thank you Egidio.

  4. On this sad morning, I was so happy to open your post and see your beautiful image. I like the original better. If I ever felt like moving out of the US it would be now.

    1. Very sad Anne, I’m thinking of you all. I’m glad I could brighten it a little. I have been telling people to leave, sadly. I don’t think things are going to get better. Take care my friend.
