Holga is a type of photography that you normally need a special camera to get images that are normally thought to be associated with it. However, a few years ago I bought a Holga lens for my Nikon camera.
It is a plastic lens and you can get some interesting images with it. I was reminded of it recently and thought about getting one for my Fujifilm, but apparently they don’t make the lens for those cameras.
I saw a thread on Reddit about using an adaptor for the lens to use on my Fujifilm camera. I looked on Amazon and found one for about $23. I figured it wasn’t too expensive and would be worth the cost if I could use the lens again.
It did work. Though with the adaptor it zooms in a lot more, but since I only want it for fun, I thought I could deal with that.
I went to Box Hill here in Melbourne recently before meeting up with a friend I decided to try out the lens on some buildings.
The results are pretty much what I expected.
It is fun to play around with lenses and such that aren’t normally part of our photographer’s kit. Do you enjoy playing around with these sorts of things?
Nice photos 🙂 I have one of these for the Nikon too. Similar results. Occasionally, I’ll just put plastic in front of a lens for the effect too. That can be unpredictable and fun.
Thank you. I like that idea of the plastic lens, I’ve got cheap UV filters so I can put stuff on them, but haven’t thought of plastic, I will have to give it a go.
“Hello Holga! Nice to meet you! ” (First time I’ve heard of a Holga lens!)
Yeah, you don’t hear about them very often sadly. I remember hearing about the cameras.

Hi Leanne. You sent me on a Google search regarding Holga photography. Interesting. Liked your photographic results.
I hope the google search wasn’t too much of a rabbit hole. They are interesting. Not sure I would want to use it all the time, but for a bit of fun, why not. Thank you, glad you liked them Anne.
