About 4 years ago I did a video on New York and my thoughts on travel photography. I’m not a travel photographer, while I don’t mind going to places to see things, I feel so guilty every time I get in a plane and the impact it has on the environment that I can’t go overseas anymore. My choice and I let my passport expire earlier this year.
So, while the video might have been interesting with my thoughts on that, I was disappointed with the slideshow I did of New York at the beginning. I had people telling me the photos were shown too quickly, and they couldn’t see them properly. I have thought about this a lot and the other day I deleted that video.
I then spent a few days working on a new one and trying to make sure you could see the photos properly. Of course, it is a small collection of the photos I took, but I hope it gives you an idea of what I saw while I was there.
Here are a few of the photos from the video. Some of these are new, and I processed them for the video. I don’t know why, when I go away, I do photos with Lightroom and only save them as small jpegs. I have to get out of the habit of doing that.
Here is the video and I hope you enjoy this one more than the other one, well for those that saw the other one.
Great. Interestingly Iβm returning to New York later in the year. And you made my mind up to take my 500cm. I donβt know why a video should influence the choice of a stills camera!
That’s great, it is an amazing city, I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.
That is a spectacular video Leanne. And showing so many different parts of the city.
Thank you so much Paul.
Thanks for sharing your memories of this place.
YOu’re welcome Peter, thanks for watching.
Well, that looks a very professional video to me, and a great introduction to a city I’ve never visited, and undoubtedly never will now.
Thank you Margaret, it is an amazing city, but like you I will never go again.
Brings back wonderful memories for me! Your photos and video are well done and I’m so impressed that you can make a video like that.
That’s fantastic Esther, thank you so much. It takes a bit of time, but well worth it.
