Spending a morning hiking around the Lake Elizabeth Loop

I spoke to you earlier this week about how I had gone out on Monday to go hiking with a friend. We had been planning this day for a while and it was finally time to go.

We have both been to Lake Elizabeth before but didn’t realise there was more there. After we decided to start hiking earlier this year I paid for All Trails and with it we went through it trying to find hikes we would like to do. While we were searching around the Otways we discovered there was a walk called theΒ  Lake Elizabeth Loop. That meant there was a hike around the lake and once we knew plans were made.

Lake Elizabeth is around a 4.5 km hike and was rated as moderate. We knew to get to the lake we had to walk up a fairly steep hill. The first time we went that hill almost killed me, but this time I found it much easier. I mean it was still hard, but nowhere near as hard as the first time.

The walk around the lake was beautiful. We were able to stop in a few places to take photos. It is all rainforest so that makes it extra gorgeous.

The day was mild, which was good. It is that time of the year where the snakes will be coming out and I don’t ever want to see any of those. It did rain on and off, but not enough to stop us from wanting to do the hike.

It was a great walk and day. I have processed some of the photos for you below. You saw the waterfall the other day and know that we did go to other places. I will share more from those other places soon. Tomorrow for Silent Sunday we will see more of the waterfall.

I hope you enjoy the photos from Lake Elizabeth. Here is the gallery.

    1. Thank you Linda, I like your description, especially the horror story, though I am glad I didn’t think about that before I went. πŸ˜‚

  1. Looks like an amazing place to go walking. Trees and water, what’s not to like! Loved the picture looking through the branches.

    1. Yeah, that’s it really, there is nothing not to like, though in summer, maybe snakes and leeches. I don’t know. Thank you RJ, that tree was great.

  2. Wow, that’s a very thick and beautiful location, Leanne! I like the symmetry on the water too. I’ve never been in a rain forest. ❀️😊

    1. It is John, so beautiful, I think it is somewhere where I would go back. Thank you John, how sad, there are so many rainforests around here, you end up in one without realising.
