Lens Artists Challenge #281: Favourite Images of 2023

It is time to get back to the Lens Artists Challenges and this week we have been asked to post our favourite images from 2023. Not really an easy thing to do, but I did my best.

It was an interesting year with me going down to Port Campbell twice to show it to others. Once with Anne from Slow Shutter Speed who also does these challenges. She was here in Australia and we spent a few days together which was wonderful.

The second time I went was with my mother who had never been there, so I showed her around.

This gallery has some of my favourite images from both trips.

I got that last image printed on a canvas for my mum and gave it to her for Christmas. I was so happy with how it came out.

I love macro photography as well, so I thought I should include some of my favourite macro images from the previous year. All these are flowers from my garden.

I am fairly new to these challenges and still trying to work out how it all works, but I’m sure I will get there eventually.

  1. All of them are amazing! That lighthouse one is my favorite 🙂. I can imagine how nice it would be looking on canvas 🙂

    1. Thank you PR, my mum thought was too. It did look great, it actually looked heaps better than I thought it would. 😀

    2. I have printed my pictures on calendar (a little smaller than A3) and they usually turn out fine except for some difference in color as the colors look brighter on screen than in print. Never tried on canvas.

    3. That can be a problem with printing, there is nearly always differences. You will have to try canvas one day, it can be interesting.

  2. Leanne, both sets of photos are mesmerizing. I love the landscape images just as much as your macros. Gorgeous!

    1. That is great to hear Egidio, I have to admit I am loving the macro images a lot more these days, I can do them from home. Thank you.

  3. Oh a beautiful gallery. What a great gift for your mum. Anne still talks of that fantastic trip to see your beautiful country. I love the contemplation the cliffs bring, and flowers, always time for flowers.

    1. Thank you Donna, she loved it, and was very happy with it. It was so good catching up with Anne again when she was here. After she showed me around some of California it was great to be able to do the same here. I love flowers and I think there will be a lot more of them.

  4. LOL I had to laugh at your comment about the challenges Leeanne. This week was especially difficult because the challenges did not appear in our Tag section due to a WP glitch. Thanks for finding us and for your as-always beautiful response. I loved them all but my favorites are the tree and the moon image. I also LOVE that you framed the lovely lighthouse for your mom, I’m sure it is very special to her. Best wishes for the New Year ahead.

    1. I don’t know what is happening with the reader, none of my posts are appearing, so it is very confusing. I do subscribe to many of you so I see the posts.
The tree I think is the same tree that Anne had in her post. Yeah, I agree aboutt he framed image, she climbed up that one too, so it holds many memories for you. Thank you so much, I hope to be involved in a lot more of the challenges.

  5. You have a very distinct style, Leanne, one that I always find inspiring. Great photos for 2023, more for 2024 please.
