Today is a real history lesson for photography and we are taking a look at Alfred Stieglitz and his contributions to this art form.
Taking a look at Alfred Stieglitz
I don’t want to go on too much here. On YouTube there is a video which explains a lot more about him. Sorry, I’m being lazy today. I’ve just got back from driving back from my mum’s place and I’m tired.
This is a short introduction from Wikipedia:
Alfred Stieglitz HonFRPS (January 1, 1864 – July 13, 1946) was an American photographer and modern art promoter who was instrumental over his fifty-year career in making photography an accepted art form. In addition to his photography, Stieglitz was known for the New York art galleries that he ran in the early part of the 20th century, where he introduced many avant-garde European artists to the U.S. He was married to painter Georgia O’Keeffe.
So today I’m just leaving you with this video. unfortunately the quality isn’t great, but it will give you a good idea about him.
