I had to try some of the photos in ON1 Photo Raw to see what I could do with them. I know I’ve said it before, but I use it a lot now and love processing my photos with it.
I like using the presets, though I don’t like all of them, but there are some great ones. You do have to get the right images for many of them, however, I like that you can make your own as well. I know I’ve spoken about how many I have that I love that I created myself.
I am going to show you two of the images that I took on a recent trip to the 12 Apostles. I opened them up in ON1 and did the basic processing. Once I was finished with that, I started going through the presets and trying them on the image.
It took a while, but in the end, I chose one of the new presets that I got from ON1 in a group called Wildlife LUTs presets. Really, all they do is add some colour. I’m not entirely sure how they work, but I do like them.
The one I chose just put more of the orange/yellow colour into the image and made the rock stacks a better colour. I love it when something like this works so well. So, of course, I had to try it on another image.
I used an image of the two Apostles, which I took on that day, and it is a view that we haven’t been able to see for a while.
I love how both of these have turned out. I like how the LUTs only affected the colour and nothing else. I will have to try more of them.
I looked up what they were, and this is what Google told me.
LUTs, or Look-Up Tables, are used in post-production to systematically change the colours and tones of an image or video.
I have been scheduling all my posts and trying to get a few weeks ahead, so I think by the time this post is published, the new ON1 Photo Raw 2026 will be out, and I’m hoping I will be spending a lot of time working with it. I can’t wait to see what its capabilities will be. It keeps getting better.

The Apostles look great with your edits.
Thank you Anne, sad that you didn’t get to see the two on the other side when you were here, you will have to come back. lol.
nice!
happy halloween! 🐈⬛🧹🎃💀👻🧟♀️
Thank you Graham, though we don’t do halloween in Australia, not really.
LOVE
Thank you.
These are lovely, but the location is great on its own. The blue, grey tones to the sky were added with these LUTS to the sky ?
They are, the LUTz really only put the colour of the rocks back, it made them more like what they are I thought. Thank you Ritva.
