Still not a lot in my garden, but my cactus is flowering and I thought it would be nice to show it to you for Floral Friday.
My mother has a photo of me from when I was about 10 or 11 sitting behind a cactus that had a lot of pink flowers. She’d had the plant for many years and I think it was the first time it had ever flowered. As you can imagine she was very happy about it, hence the photo.
The ones I have I got from my grandma. She died over 15 years ago, so I’ve had them for a long time. Unlike my mother, mine flower all the time, well every year at least. I don’t often photograph them because I don’t think of it quickly enough. The flowers really don’t last long, maybe a day and then they are gone.
Having said that I did go out the other day and took some photos of the garden. The cacti were flowering and I managed to get some shots. Here they are. Look to see what photobombed one of the images. Also, look after the gallery for my announcement.
Caught Midway
The other day I told I was going to be working on another blog. I have done that and the first post has been done and I want to share it with you.
The blog is part of my new website Caught Midway, and you can find it here.
This blog is going to be about me and my world. I often want to bitch about things that frustrate me or talk about world events but have always felt I couldn’t do that here because this is a photography blog.
I really hope that some of you will go and take a look.
Beautiful!
Thank you Pam.
… and I liked the subtitle “Navigating Middle Age” very much. I hope that is possible 🙂
That’s good, I guess whether or not I’m successful is to be determined.
Hello Leanne, A separate blog about non-photography stuff may well be a good idea. Having a (perhaps entirely) different visitor profile can be a challenge, which I feel you are currently after.
Yeah, that is pretty much what I was thinking. Something different where I discuss all the non photography stuff. Thank you.
Oh, and your food pictures made me hungry. 🙂
Haha, I just did another post on gingerbread.
😊
Beautiful as usual Leanne. What is the name of the cactus? By the way, I checked out your new blog. Looks interesting.
Thank you Tim. I have no idea what it is, though it is a very common one here. Thanks for checking out the new one, I looking forward to seeing what happens there.
It’s wonderful that you have kept this for 15 years!!
Thank you Nora, could be because it is a cactus, not sure. lol
