Gone in a flash for Lens-Artist Challenge #372

Tina has said the challenge this week, and it is the word ephemeral. You will need to go to her post for a more detailed definition, but my understanding is that it is gone in a flash, blink and you’ll miss it, fleeting moments, you get the idea.

I considered missing this one, but then I started thinking about what I have that I could use for it.

First was flowers. They are so beautiful, but they never last long. They look great the day they finally blossom, and then in a day or two, brown spots start to appear on them. Before you know it, the flower is done. Enjoy them while you can.

How could I not do cakes? They never last, especially here. If the cake is tasty they go in a flash. I am happy anytime someone lets me eat cake.

I’m including some autumnal photos too because here in Australia, well, where I live, this time of the year seems to have become a blink and you miss it. I think it lasts about 3 weeks.

That’s it from me this week. Thank you, Tina, for being our host this week. The link to her post is at the start of this post.

  1. Some great examples, especially the yummy cakes. The 2nd last one looks like a flan from the Hopetoun Tearooms in the city.

  2. Fun choices beautifully captured Leanne. Flowers are a perfect example and the pastries look truly delicious. As for autumn, it’s a lovely season but I think too short most everywhere!

  3. Beautiful images Leanne, those cakes would be gone in a flash here too! 🧡 xxx

  4. A wonderful gallery, Leanne! I’m especially drawn to the cupcakes. My late-in-life allergy to gluten has taken away the ephemeral pleasure of a simple piece of cake. The Gluten-Free substitutes I have occasionally are OK, but a poor substitute. >grin<

  5. So true about cakes and yours look yummy! I think Autumn feels so special because it’s so short-lived and your photos are simply stunning, Leanne.
