Instagram Photos

I used to do this a lot, but haven’t for a while and I have decided it is time to do it again. While these aren’t the photos from this week, they are all ones that I have done recently.

I am sure I have told you that I have more than one Instagram account, well only two, but I have been doing more work on one than the other.

Getting out to take photos has been so hard in the last couple of years, and well now it is even worse. Omicron is making itself known and I seem to be hearing from people left right and centre who have it, or have been in contact with someone who has it.

My eldest daughter seems to have caught it and possibly passed it on to my youngest. Everything is a mess here right now. We have to use Rapid Antigen Tests if you have been exposed and if it is positive go get a PCR test. Problems, no one can find the Rapid Antigen Tests, there just aren’t any left. So if you need to get tested you have to wait until you have symptoms. Then you have to wait 5 to 7 days to get results. I mean, could it be screwed up anymore.

Thankfully both my daughters are double vaccinated so hopefully it won’t be too severe. Though, my youngest daughter always seems to get everything worse than everyone else. My husband is the same, which is why I’ve been doing everything I can to protect him. Part of doing that is living in a bubble basically. Fingers crossed they will both be okay. Part of that bubble is taking photos in my garden.

That is the name of my other Instagram page. If you click on the title it is also a link to the page.

As the name suggests, I just put up my macro work there. Since living in our bubble one thing that I have been doing a lot is using the extensive macro gear I have to do a lot of macro photography. You all know how much I love it.

I have wondered if you would like a post on what all my macro gear is. I have a lot of different things. Lots of Lensbaby and other things. I’m now collecting more for my Fujifilm cameras too.

So the following photos have been taken with the Fujifilm macro lens, the Lensbaby Velvet 56, along with the Lensbaby Composer Pro II with either the Sweet 35 or Sweet 50.

I still have the Fujifilm macro, but it will be going back soon. It has been good having it, and I’m annoyed I can’t afford to buy one.  Still, I have my Nikon macro lens, so I can keep using it. It is nice to have choices. The Fujifilm macro lens will have to wait for the time being. I have so many things to use to take photos of the flowers in my garden, I just need more flowers now.

I have talked enough now, so here is a gallery of those images. Take everyone, stay safe and stay healthy. It’s my birthday today, so I will definitely be relaxing and taking it easy.

    1. Thanks Julie, turns out neither of them had it, which is goo. I am loving what is happening in my garden. I’m trying to get more flowers too.

  1. Hope your daughter’s come through it okay if it is Covid. I know how you feel about trying to avoid catching it and the limits it creates. I am the same. I am on Instagram in theory but after an initial flurry, find it hard to keep it up. Haven’t even looked at it for a while. I think it is having the square format doesn’t help as although I often take square photographs of things I make I also like 2:3 for landscapes and such.

    1. They are fine, they both tested negative, so all good. Social media just isn’t as important to me anymore. I love the people who read my blog and love doing more here again. I don’t use the square format on Instagram, not all images look good that way. Thank you RJ, take care.

  2. Happy birthday!! Love your photos in this post. We are having the same difficulties with testing in the US. I hope your daughters recover quickly!

  3. First of all, wishing your daughters a mild case, a speedy and complete recovery. And wishing you a happy birthday. They just keep coming around, don’t they. 🙂 Your macro images (well, frankly, all your images) are luscious. Love the lighting and the dreamy focus. Just followed your macro account as well. Take care.

    1. Thank you Jen, as it turns out they are fine and have tested negative. Thank you. They really do keep coming. lol
Thank you. I do love doing the macro, and it really gets me into the garden as well. You take care too.

  4. If I am correct in thinking this is a dahlia I appreciate what lovely subjects they are for the camera.

  5. Happy Birthday, hope you have a great day. Omicron seems to be spreading everywhere quickly its even hit Sale quite bad now! defiantly staying in a bubble daughter- law is pregnant and not vaccinated so be very very cautious. the rest of the family is fully vaccinated. hope your daughters get better soon. lovely macro images, must get out and do the same.

    1. Thank you Tania. It has gone wild, I think their decision to let it rip is biting them back. What a mess. We are getting out boosters tomorrow, but it seems it doesn’t always protect you. Good to hear you are doing your best to be cautious, especially for your daughter-in-law. Thanks again Tania, lovely to hear from you.

  6. Happy birthday Leanne! Nice work with your macros. I suspect we will all get the dreaded plague but like you we are doing what we can to avoid it.

    1. Thank you so much Chris. I am loving the macros and I can do it at home which I like. They are saying that, that we will all get it, but I’m not convinced, I think that is the PM and others saying they don’t care anymore. We are going to stick it out here for as long as we can. LOL. I just don’t want to get sick, I never want to catch colds either. Fingers crossed we don’t get it.

  7. I am sorry to read about your daughters. I hope their symptoms remain mild and that they make a full and speedy recovery. The testing supply line and system has collapsed here too and meanwhile Covid is rampaging again. I feel like it is inevitable that my kids and I are going to get it. I can feel it all closing in on me.

    1. Thank you Laura, I hope so too, time will tell. They haven’t been able to get tested yet, but it seems like that is probably what is wrong. I don’t know what our “leaders” were thinking it letting it rip, so many aspects of our society are just falling apart, like hospitals. People have said it is inevitable, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to put myself out there to get it. I know what you mean about it all closing in on you, I feel the same.
