This is another image that was taken a while back. It was taken in 2024 when I was exploring Box Hill with a mate, but I’ve only just processed it. I think one of the things that I really like about doing photography like this is that you end up with a lot of photos, and I know that each one will take me a while to process, as this one did.
I thought I might try doing the image in black and white. Lots of people doing images like this in black and white, so I thought I might give it a go. Not sure I’m totally good with it, but it is a start, I suppose.
Sometimes there are images that you just can’t do, and maybe this is one of them for me, but I’m glad I gave it a go. I think I will do more in the future. I like black and white, but I also really like colour, so I think I need to find a way to do something that is in between and more to my liking. I guess I will have to experiment more.
This building was pretty much monochrome anyway. There was a very blue sky, so I swapped it for another one. I just played around with the light, other than that I didn’t do a whole lot to it. I think I was a bit lost with this one.
I am going to leave you with the image now, and you can decide for yourself if it was worth the effort.

wonderfully graphic

Really nice architectural shot, Leanne.
Thank you Donna.
As David says
Thanks Sue.
Beautiful tones Leanne
Thank you David.
Nice angle.
Thank you Dawn.
I don’t think I would have guessed this was a building. I haven’t experimented enough but I airways wanted to play with shadows and have folks guess what it was.
You can get some great effects from photographing straight up the side of a building. You could try it.
I like the wispy clouds here, Leanne. They look almost a bit sinister next to the sharp, clear lines of the building.
I have a confession, I put the clouds there, so I’m happy to hear that you think they worked well. Thank you Lois.
Agree, mentioned this in previous post, but didn”t realize you added them. That contrast is what I really like about the picture.
Thank you Geoff, there was nothing in the sky and I thought it needed something, so glad you also think they worked.
