My turn again and I decided to do one of the themes from my list on the Monochrome Madness page. I will have to remove it now.
For Monochrome Madness #18 I have chosen Reflections.
For me one of the best things I can think of to get in the city is reflections in the river. Every time I go in there I look to see if the water in the Yarra River is really still so I can get them. It doesn’t happen a lot, but I always look and when it is really still I have to take as many photos as I can.
From the gallery below you can see that I have managed to capture quite a few images like that.
Photographing the reflections you get in puddles or water on concrete can also be fun to get. They can also be hard, but I find puddles can be a lot of fun. Another thing I like is at the beach, when the waves go back out and the sand is really wet you can get really good reflections in it.
There are a couple of reflections taken in my local park. Again, it isn’t always easy to find the water so still that you can get reflections of the trees in it. Even nicer when you can get the clouds in the reflection as well.
The image of the building reflected in the windows of the Museum is one I’ve shown a few times now, but I had to include it here. Reflections like that are wonderful to get.
Here is a gallery of the images. Click on one to scroll through them.
Thank you so much for allowing me to be your host again this week. I am very happy to report that it looks like we have every theme week covered until Christmas.
If you would like to have a go at hosting next year, I’m happy to start taking requests.
Participating in Monochrome Madness
If you would like to participate in this challenge please post photos on your blog and use the tag Monochrome-Madness, then I can use the reader to see what you post.
You can also leave a pingback, do they still call them that? Basically, you put a link to my monochrome madness post in your post and it leaves a link in the comment section.
Don’t forget to check out the Monochrome Madness page. On this page, the next theme is announced and there is also all the information for participating. We have also included a list of themes that will be coming in the future so if you want to be able to plan ahead you can. They aren’t in order, but will happen. Please go and check it out. Click on the Monochrome Madness heading in the menu.
Also if you would like to host one week or more, let me know.

A great set of reflections, Leanne 👏 I Always like seeing puddle reflections; they are so transitory in nature 😃 Here’s mine: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2024/10/02/canal-reflections-monochrome-madness/
Thank you so much Jez. Puddle reflections can be fun, I just ahve to remember to look.
Cities are such great places for reflections. As you demonstrate!

Some great shots in here. I am a fan of reflections, especially black and white. Funny thing is that all mine are in color though.
Maybe it is time to convert them Rick, it is easy to do. lol. Thank you so much.
Those reflection photographs are wonderful, Leanne. I especially love the artwork reflected in the water trench. Amazing! Thanks again for sharing these.
Thank you Sally, that’s an interesting choice, glad you like it. You’re welcome.
Wonderful reflections. I really like the one where all you see is the reflection–not so much the trees that are being reflected. Makes such a great shot.
Thank you Lois, I like that too, I have to admit I did crop it bit so it would be more like that.
Amazing, Leanne, I love the beautiful symmetry. ❤️😊
Thank you John, I love that too.
